Is there anyway i can breastfeed again ? My daughter was doing great at breastfeeding and then one day she wanted nothing to do with it.. i tried and tried and had to start giving her formula... i would love to start trying again but its been about 3 weeks since she has stopped ... is there anyway to restart ? If i pump every couple hours will milk come back in or has it been to long ?

Pumping might help, but the best way to bring back your milk supply is putting her on the breast, if she'll do it. Sometimes babies refuse because the smell or taste has changed. Make sure you drink lots of water, and avoid foods with strong flavors and alcohol, which can flavor your milk. Consider any soap or lotion you may be using, too. The best thing to care for your nipples is to wash them with plain water, then express a little milk and rub that in. It's better for your skin than lotion, and it will smell and taste good to your baby. The fenugreek should help, too.

Yes you should smell like maple syrup and the recomended starter dose for fenugreek is 3-3x a day, you will want to take Blessed Thistle with the fenugreek as they work way better together. You take the same dose of the Blessed Thistle.

should i literally smell like syrup ?lol ... and should i really try 3 a day 3 times a day all at once or should i strt with one three times a day and go from there ?

I agree with Katherine. Have you got any milk at all if you pump? You could also try a Supplemental Nursing System (or Supply Line) which is a small tube which runs from the bottle into your babys mouth when she is on the breast. That way she is stimulating your breast and also being fed. I have heard that eating oatmeal helps too. Please see a lactation nurse. I had a low milk supply at one time and got a script for Domperidone from my doctor, which increases your milk supply. Good Luck!

I'd look in to seeing a lactation consultant, but yes, you can definitely bring her back to the breast. Kellymom.com is a great resource for this as well. Starting by pumping every 2-3 hours is a good way to help get your supply back up. Also, I'd probably go out and get some fenugreek capsules to help increase your supply. You want to take three of them, three times a day. If you don't smell like maple syrup, you're not taking enough (I have to take 5 capsules, 3 times a day to get the smell, but 3 is a good start).
