My 11 month old daughter hs 4 teeth and my nipples are sore form her nursing. Why? From what i've heard their teeth don't touch your nipples if they suck correctly. Help!

My son is 27 mo. almost and has a full mouth of teeth. His teeth rest on my nipple too and that can make it tender. However, around 20mo. it became SUPER tender and I thought what the heck is going on. Does he have a totally different latch or what? Well turns out I was pregnant again. But, for the most part it can just be a poor or lazy latch and you need to get it corrected again and all will be ok.

My 11 month old has 6 teeth (4 top and 2 bottom tho ony the middle 2 on top are all the way in...) and he has a nice deep latch, but his top teeth still rest on my breast while he's nursing and it feels a bit like a pinch or something to me. When he's done nursing I have 2 little indentations where his teeth were. But because he has such a deep latch, this is on my breast, not nipple or areola. Is your daughter's latch too shallow? Or is she not releasing her latch all the way before she finishes and pulls away, thereby scraping your nipple with her teeth? Seems like whatever the issue is, it might be solved by getting her to latch more deeply and releasing fully before she moves away when done. Hope that helps! :)

My 14 month old has 13 teeth now, with another on the way. We've been nursing pretty successfully throughout with a slight adjustment to his latch once the teeth got bigger. Their tongue is between your nipple and the bottom teeth but what's on top? I don't know how it wouldn't come in contact at some point. You may want to see if you can adjust her so that she has a deeper latch. We did have some discomfort for a little while, but it didn't stay. Hope that helps a little. Are you using any sort of creams or anything?
