My son is allergy to diary, so i stop consuming any. He's exclusively on breast milk. just 3 days ago his poo turns greenish yellow and today it turn dark dull green in colour. Its been slimy ever since he catch a cold a month ago, he does have alot of phlegm too (cold lasted only for 3 days, but phlegm persist with occasional cough). What could be the reason other then fore/hind milk and food allergy?

My daughters was like that too for quite a while - probably 2 months off and on and my doctor said that she was fine.

My son had the same thing, until I started taking my vitamins again.

Don't really know if my diet was the cause or not

I would not be too concerned, as the other posts state, my daughter's poo (and yes, I breastfeed) has been almost every color except maybe blue or purple. She has had yellow, orange, green, brown, and even reddish-yellow (okay, that one I called the ped on but she was fine).

my son is just about 3mths and we have had the same thing this last week. My last baby (now 2) had it about 2.5mths as well.
I think its a supply issue, I seem to have had more milk lately and he is a snacker, so like PP said, he is getting too much foremilk.
Your son is really cute btw!
Lets hope we all see some more normal looking poop very soon, lol.

Breast-fed babies have really strange poop! I think as long as your baby seems happy, it is all okay!

My son's was mucosy for a while after his first cold, too. My doctor said as long as poop was earth tones, it was fine.

Green poop is usually a sign your baby is getting too much of the watery foremilk. Try feeding him on one side and at the next feed put him back on that same side before switching over so he is more likely to get the hindmilk. Alternatively you can try expressing a little bit off before each feed so he only gets a little foremilk. Eventually your milk supply will adjust and you won't produce so much foremilk.

i called my doctor two days ago on that very same thing. They said as long as it is not mucus like and frothy to not worry. Probably something I ate since I have been eating a lot of green vegetables lately.

if you baby is a "snacker" - a baby that doesn't nurse very long but nurses often, then the for/hindmilk thing is probably what's going on.

my daughters poo turned this color too at around 4 mo.  It is back to yellow now...I read that iron levels can effect the color

My doctor daddy says there is a huge range of "normal" colors for BF baby poop.  Light green, dark green, yellow brown, orange, chunky, smooth, the whole range.  Don't worry about funny colored poop unless it's bloody.

My daughter did the same thing (dark green poo) for a while, and then it went away.  I wouldnt worry.  It could be something you ate:)  Didnt last too long for me:)
