Try warm showers to stimulate milk production. Also after you give the baby a bath take your top off and breastfeed like that. Skin to skin contact seems to also help produce milk, as does doing it right before she goes to bed.

"I have started solid foods now...instead of breast milk i m feeding in bottles....i m trying to breast feed atleast once in the night time....but it is not enough for her."

Yes, because you've been feeding her bottles and started her on bottles, that can absolutely impact supply. Milk supply is supply and demand. There's no demand because you've been giving bottles, and yes, your supply can take a hit..

If you want to continue to nurse her, you really need to nurse more often.

It won't be enough now because you've started weaning her. But at least you gave it a go

For us to help you, I really need you to answer some questions. I'm still not quite understanding..

Did you not nurse while taking these medications? If you didn't nurse while taking these meds, your supply may have taken a hit.

Are you nursing now?

How are diapers?

Giving any bottles?

You can take some galactalogues but for them to help, you really need to nurse more often.

Please answer these questions so we can help you more thoroughly.

Try taking the herbs blessed thistle, marshmallow and fennel. These 3 together will enrich your milk and make it plentiful. Take as the bottle says and increase as needed. You can find them at a health food store in capsules or tincture form.

Can you please clarify your question?

I noticed around 5 months it felt like I'd dried up, but I'd moved to a new place that had a higher altitude and I wasn't drinking enough fluids. Eatting oatmeal helped too.

Even if you aren't engorged after a few hours after feeding you'll still have a good supply. It could just be your baby is growing and is ready to try some solids

Ditto what Lori said. Need to know how you're determining that your supply dried up. Generally, supply just doesn't suddenly dry up but rather moms look at the wrong things to judge supply. Please answer Lori's questions so we can help you!

We need some more info. First - how are you determining that your supply has suddenly dried up? Pumping and not getting as much, not feeling engorged, baby not seeming full?????? And Second how old is your baby and how often do you nurse? Also, have you started taking any new medications? Decongestants like sudafed can lower your supply. So can birth control pills that contain estrogen. Also, some women experience a drop in supply when they start their period... but it's not dried up, just a dip, and then it rebounds after the period is over.

If you're basing this on just not feeling engorged anymore, I'd say you're fine and your body is adjusting to the amount of milk your baby needs.

Also - baby not seeming full could be something as simple as a growth spurt. All you need to do is keep nursing on demand, even if that means every hour.

If you've been pumping and your output has dropped there are a few things you can try to do to increase output. But again, I'll need more info. How often do you pump? Do you have a double electric pump? Are the breast shields the right size for you?
