everyone on here is right--it's hormonal. my hair stylist even said after you STOP breastfeeding it can take up to 2 years to regulate.....just in time to get pregnant again lol. hang in there...

Thanks everyone for your advice. Oh! Btw, i did find something thats helping me with my hairfall & making a difference already...its an equal mix of coconut oil, almond oil, castor oil & olive oil. Apply an hour b4 shampooing.
& thanks for reminding friends....I completely forgot about my vitamins. I have them safely locked up in my medicine cabinet & have not been taking them after delivery. Guess i better start now. Thanks again!!!

im a hair styles, it happes after babies!! not just because your nursing, its ok its normal, no fix tho. so dont worry, if its like falling out inhuge clumps you may have a bigger problm and should see the doc. but have no fear its normal!

Keep taking your prenatals, especially if you are still nursing and try to keep all the good fats in your diet like avocado, flax oil, salmon, yogurt.

I'm a hairstylist and have many clients who battle with this. As if we don't do it enough, unfortunately it's another sacrifice we make as mommies. I think trying to hang on to your length and watching it thin will make you more upset. I think coming to terms with a shorter haircut will make you feel better in the long run and then you can let it grow back once the shedding has stopped.

I hear you - I feel like I hardly have any left. I think it's time for me to invest in a short haircut so that it looks fuller and healthier.

Your hair will start growing back almost immediately (although it may take a while to grow back to its original length).

you lose hair after having a baby. did you notice when you were pregnant that your hair looked healthy and thicker...well now your losing the extra hair. its common to lose hair. actually everyone loses hair everyday but women who just had a baby lose more

I had this too, and it is hormonal fluctuations for sure, but not just because you are breastfeeding. Some women are just more predisposed, and I think it's worst after your first child. I had a LOT of hair loss from when my daughter was 4.5 - 8 months. Then the falling out finally slowed down... and the not so fun stage of regrowth started. While I'm a little annoyed that I have "tufts" along my hairline, it is reassuring to know that it's growing back. Hang in there. Fabric headbands can be your friend.

You're not alone, honey! My hair WAS almost 2 feet long, but it kept falling so fast that I had to unclog the shower drain on a DAILY basis. I had to cut my hair!

Unfortunately no there is no cure. One Doctor said it can take up to 2 years for your hair to stop falling out. Just hang in there!

It's bound to happen because you've had a baby.... Keep taking your multi's RELIGIOUSLY, and invest in a cute hat or two. I have Psoriasis as well as having just had my third child, so I'm actually bald in some places. I wear head scarves... like a thick bandana, then curl my hair in the back to make it look like I'm just "fashionable". Good luck!
