My son is starting to wean him self, Im SO SAD!

My son is almost 15 months old, and I've been nursing him since he was born, and absolutly loving it! For that past few months I've only been nursing him before his nap, & before bed time, but he recently stopped wanting to nurse before his nap, and tonight he didn't want to nurse AT ALL, before he went to sleep! He went to sleep fine with no tears or anything, but i want to nurse my baby!! I feel like this is a huge loss of some sort, & i am really sad that he isn't really interested in nursing any more. Am i crazy, or have any other moms felt like this???

You could offer the breast more often during the day and see if he is thirsty....

I feel for you! I remember when my first son weaned, it was devastating for me. I think as moms it can be hard to let go of something that has been such a large part of our lives for so long. I can remember thinking that our relationship would be different and that we wouldn't "bond" like before, but give yourself some time and it gets easier with time!

Be happy about what you have done for your son and embrace this new chapter :)
