Need ideas for nursing my baby in public, she hate being covered!

My daughter is 6 months old and breastfeeds very well. She has never had a problem until recently and that is when I use my cover to feed her while we are out. She hates it! She will stick her arm and leg straight up the entire time or try to pull it off resulting in me flashing people at times. She is great at home when I don't use it but I don't feel comfortable not being covered when in public. What do I do? Is this common for older babies?

i use a tank top underneath my hubbys tee shirt and when he gets hungry i lift the tee shirt and the tank covers my belly and the tee covers the top of my breast completly. practice in the mirror a couple of times!! awesome job geting this far!!!

i hold one side of the wrap down between my arm and side, so she cant move it. she kicks and little bit or gets fussy, but usually settles down after a bit, if she gets fussy again I take her off, she usually cries, and I'll say "no madison" then I'll let her go back, usually she figures if she doesnt cooperate than she keeps getting removed for a moment. When she behaves and say that's my good girl and I rub her back while she nurses she loves that

another thing is i noticed she likes to make eye contact with me sometimes or play with my necklace and rub the pendant with her fingers. so I have a nursing cover with the wire opening at the top so we can see each other

My baby does this and she is 2 months. lol. I started tucking the end of the blanket under my bra while in public. My mom said she had a friend who sewed a weight to the end of her blanket so that her children couldn't lift it.

I wear a tube top under my t-shirts and wear a slightly fitted T. That way my stomach is completely covered, and the tighter t stays where I want it too, covering the top of my breast! (Tube tops are SOO much cheaper than nursing tanks)

Get a shirt you can lift up instead of pulling down, that way your baby covers the exposed skin and the shirt kinda rests on her head covering most of your breast...

I wear a thin stretchy vest under my clothes, pulling the vest down and my top up when feeding... that way when Alice feels like nosing at that loud noise over there, I just pull the vest up and I'm instantly covered.
9 imes out of 10 she wants to go back on within 5 seconds so it's just a case of pulling the vest back down.

Well done for getting to 6 months of feeding xXx

Yeah, it's pretty common for babies to do that when covered. It was probably around then when my twin boys started kicking at my cover.

What I did was wear a loose shirt. I undid my bra positioned him and then quickly lifted my shirt just enough where he could latch. No one could see a thing. I've heard of other moms using a nursing tank as well. It just took practice. One thing that you can also try is to nurse in front of a mirror so you see what others will see..
