So perfect when they are this tiny. Funny how you can want them to get out of this stage, just to long for it again when they finally do.

i dont really understand why someone would join a breast feeding group and look at the pics if they think its inapropriate in the first place this is such a special thing where us breast feeding mummies can share our special precious moments with others i think its the most natural thing in the world if it was wrong why would we produce milk in the first place.
i must admit i was a little nervous about exposing my self in public but i dont care at all now if my baby needs to eat she eat and thats the end of it plus no one can really see anything anyway
This is the most adorable pic it brings a tear to my eye, my daughter is 4 mths now so i really must take some pics to remember this special time Well done everyone keep it up xxxxxx

This is the most beautiful and natural experience any woman could every experience. For anyone who thinks breastfeeding is unnatural, they are wrong. God gave us these breast for one thing and one thing only, to feed. They are not toys or anything else, they are the means of nutrition for our new ones. Then whatever you want to do with them is private. I have no problem seeing or using my own or anyone elses as long as they are portrayed as they should be...feeding. I believe any woman who is breastfeeding should feel proud of their decision and have the oppertunity to always feel comfortable no matter where they are feeding their child. I have done it in the middle of the grocery store walking through the aisles. Of course I was respectable enough to have a blanket over me. Rock on Moms and Beautiful PIC

I love this photo! I love looking down at my little guy, he's been feeding with his eyes closed lately, but when he feeds with them open and stares up at me, he will smile often and of course milk spills out from his mouth haha but it's such a wonderful feeling to have them look up to you like that!!
I wish I had some good pictures like this one!

wow - it's unfortunate tis turned so rude so quickly. Why must we all be so judgmental? The picture is beautiful. I am glad you wanted to share it. This is the appropriate place to do that as it is a breastfeeding forum. The picture was clearly a woman nursing, so you could easily just pass it by without pausing to look and return to write multiple rude messages. The forum is not liberal, but it is a place where women can comfortably ask questions and share their own nursing experiences. I'm sorry you had to ruin this beautiful picture posting with your nastiness. If you don't like it, look away.
On a side note - beautiful baby and beautiful picture. I took some when my daughter was that little and I am so happy I did. It took me a long time to be comfortable nursing in public...mostly because of mothers like the ones that think it's inappropriate. God bless you both!

such a beautiful picture...i too also am a breastfeeding mummy and i love it. i have photos (but only on the phone as the moments always happen when a camera is out of reach....i dnt find this offencive or inappropriate at all. I think that breast is the most natural type of feeding ever.
I always feed my baby public and i dont even cover him as he doesnt like it. i find that as long as my baby is comfortable then thats all that matters and if people dont like it then thats their problem.
I have a saying i use when i go shopping if i need to feed in public....if a mother can feed her baby a bottle with no critisism, then i should be able to do the same, the way i feel comfortable. If people dont like it then so be it....im not gonna let my baby suffer for other peoples ignorance.
again beautiful picture

I have to agree with Danielle. Were as I myself wouldn't post this picture, I have some of my own. And I see nothing wrong with it, it is a beautiful picture. I myself will cover up in public, but if need be, I'll whip it out if my daughter needs to be fed. And posting this picture on a breastfeading site, and feeding in public(covered or not) have nothing to do with each other. Although both are perfectly natural.

Well im glad your leaving this group! lol This picture is adorable and in no way inappropriate! Breastfeeding has been for hundreds of years now and if people dont like it, TURN YOUR HEAD! Us breastfeeding moms have the right to breastfeed in public where ever we want whether we are covered up or not, i dont care what other people think because i am doing whats best for my daughter and if i forgot a blanket and shes hungry in public, im whippin it out! People need to have more respect for us!
We're not going around with our boobs hanging out just to show everyone, this isnt about everyone else its about your child! its not like we're doing it for attention.
UGH and the politics issue SERIOUSLY? I mean you must have a few screws loose- sorry- but everyone was thinking it.. I mean i voted mccain what does breastfeeding have anything to do with being liberal, we are proud breastfeeders that doesnt mean we are liberals!

thats an incredibly sweet picture. I think its awesome that so many people are comfortable with openly nursing. I dont understand how anyone would see it as inappropriate or even be uncomfortable with something that is so natural. Our babies gotta eat, and the best thing for them is our breasts. Iremember when i nursed my first son, i was scared about it at first, but then it came so easily. My husband and I went shopping with the baby and i remember this so well cuz it was the first time since he was born. We were at Bell World when he got hungry. The female saleslady gave me a chair so i could feed him, but the glares i got from the customers were so openly rude. It was almost enough to make me want to put him on a bottle, but the sales woman was so great and defensive that it'll be something i'll always remember. I think it was because of her that i've always been so comfortable nursing my children, whethor at home or in public. Just remember God gave us breasts to feed our children, not so men can oogle them! And i too took pics of both my kids nursing. To me it was a very heartwarming and rewarding experience iim never gonna want to forget.

This picture is so precious. Sweet, tiny baby! I took some pictures like this of my son when he was a tiny guy too because I wanted to remember looking down at him, so sweet. I'm sure I'll never show HIM those pictures though - LOL.
I respect that people might feel uncomfortable with this, I would have too before I had a baby and breastfed. I had huge hang-ups about my own breasts/body, not to mention breastfeeding and other women breastfeeding. But they were my hang-ups. For me, becoming a mother and breastfeeding has totally changed my perceptions about my body - my body is an amazing thing to me now! Our bodies create and carry babies and then nourish them - that truly rocks.

Oh goodness. Not that it is any relation, but I was a McCain supporter. You specifically said "I think it's inappropriate" You said this on a breastfeeding support group. And now you say "I am not saying it is wrong to take a picture or to expose yourself in public" I didn't think I was being ugly, and I certainly wasn't slandering you. I thought I was being supportive of the mother who started this thread with a loving picture of her child nursing.

I think this group is a little to liberial for me. I guessing you all voted for Obama. I will be leaving this group. I was just making a comment. I did not know that I was going to be slandered or critized for my comments. I have nothing wrong with breast feeding. I do it myself. I am just not for showing it off. And that is what some of you don't seem to understand. I am not saying it is wrong to take a picture or to expose yourself in public. I was just asking if others did this as well and if they felt comfortable about it. I was not expecting to be treated so badly by some of you in here.

I think it's a great picture. My son is now 13 months and still breastfeeds. This picture takes me back...It made me sad to think he has grown sooo much in such a short period of time.
The only reason people may have a problem with it is because we have sexulized breast so much in the media. I'm not for walking around topless either, but breastfeeding is completely different. You are sustaining life, providing love and safety. It's not about the flesh it's self but what the flesh is able to give that matters.
P.S. I showed my husband and the first words out of his mouth were "oh, cute looks just like our bubby did!" He was not at all offended and actually laughed that somebody would get on a breastfeeding website and comment on seeing breast!

My husband said that being naked is natural too. But nobody walks around like that. My husband did not want to see the picture. I take offense to think that you (DD Martin) say that I think it is dirty. I do not I am just saying that I am not comfortable showing my breasts to people other than my husband. But apparently you have no problem showing yourself to people.

By the way, I pulled this pic up to see my husbands reaction. He just said "AWWW" and got a warm smile on his face. When I told him some people would think that was inappropriate, he was confused (and this is a breast man LOL) and couldn't believe it. Beautiful!!

It's an absolutely beautiful picture. Perfectly natural. If someone has a problem with it, we can thank the media and formula companies for making people feel like it's "dirty" or inappropriate. It's perfectly natural. Do people turn their heads when they see puppies nurse? Nope, it's adorable, and so is this! Keep up the good work Bfing mommies!!! It's not easy, especially when there is still so much negativity out there. :)

I'm sorry but maybe it is just me. I am a big fan of nursing and think women should but I am not all about taking pictures of it and showing it online. I don't even nurse in public and if I have to I am covered up. I think it is inappropriate and I am not comfortable with anyone other than my baby and husband seeing my breast.
