I have a cold and would like to know if anyone has suggestion for medications that DO NOT affect milk production. I took Tylenol Cold & Flu (none acetaphamine) once and it decreased my milk supply noticeably.

Try some Eucalyptus oil in a bowl of hot water to relieve the congestion. I used it this past winter for myself and my LO when we got head colds. Makes nursing a little easier and doesn't affect supply since it is inhaled. I even put some on a cloth and placed under my pillow and near her crib so we could sleep a little easier :)

It sucks to have a cold when you can't take anything for it- but I used a salt water nasal spray to get some relief (similar to a nette pot (sp?)as mentioned by the other post here). It pretty much flushes out your nasal passages and lets you breath clearly. Good luck- hope you feel better!

All decongestants(sp?) will impact your milk supply. I just stuck with Tylenol and Motrin. I also used a Nette Pot (sp?).
