Go to a store where they will measure you for a nursing bra and they will give suggestions about which bras to choose in which size. *Keep in mind that this does not mean going to your local department store or even Motherhood Maternity- you need to find a specialty store that carries various nursing bra brands and has a salesperson who is trained in measuring/fitting nursing bras.

As far as brands go, i do believe that if you spend a little more money you're going to see that the quality is much better - the bra will feel better and last longer. Try some on so that you know how they fit you.

I have the Bravado too.  It is really comfy!  They are a little pricy but worth it.

I had two bras by  Bravado but I really got tired of not having support after about 4 weeks.  I got two bras from Anita that are AWESOME.  They have an underwire but I have never had any problems with blocked ducts.  I was DD before I got pregnant, so I really need the support!  Nordstrom's sells the Anita bras (they are expensive, but worth it) or you can go to www.anita.com.   I use the Bravado ones during the night and the Anita ones during the day. :)

I have two by Bravado (one Supreme and one Original) and I also have one of their tanks - all three is great but the Supreme is especially nice (not cheap, but lovely) - I also have a tank by Glamour mom (www.glamourmom.com) which I like even better than the Bravado tank.

I too hate the Motherhood Maternity bras I have. In fact the cleaning instructions for the bra are to wear it in the shower...otherwise the padding gets all messed up. I did buy a medela comfort bra from BRU...it's nice for when i'm at home, but isn't super supportive, nor flattering. I'm still on a quest for a comfy, supportive and flattering bra...since my Motherhood ones pinch on the sides, and don't rest flush with my skin between my breasts (and this was one that was sized for me!)

Oh, yea... the Bravado is a bit pricier... which is why I only have one so far, but it's totally worth it! It's better than all four of my cheap-o JC-Penney catalog bras, and my other two random bras all put together. Plus, I wear it every chance I get. As soon as I get the funds to buy more, the others are going in the trash. :)

I also have a Bravado and LOVE it. After three and a half years of nursing I finally found a bra that fits properly. I'm a 32E and have a HORRIBLE time finding anything in my size, and if something is even made in my size I have to special order it. The Bravado I have is just sized S,M,L,etc and the Small fits perfectly in the band, and is stretchy enough to cover my entire breast properly. It's sooooooo comfy. :)

I love the GAP bras- they were more expensive but supportive and comfy and it's held up way better than  the ones I bought from LLL. I also like the Medela one I have, but it's extremelt matronly looking...the hospital fit me for it when my kids were born, so it's a great fit, supportive and comfy, just not very appealing...it's also held up really well with washing.

I have bras from Motherhood Maternity, but I don't honestly like them. I'm just too cheap to buy more since I already have these. The problem is with the sides -- there's a piece of plastic that is supposed to provide support or hold the bra up (I think) but it just bends and makes it look like I have this weird round bump on each side of my chest. It also pinches a little. Next time, I'll spend more and get one that is really comfy and makes me look great!

oh, one more thing.  i would recommend going somewhere and actually going to a store to try them one before buying since sizing can be a bit strange.  i am usually a 36A/B and the M is the right size for me (eventhough the company's sizing chart would put me in a small)

I also have the seamless Bravado bra and it is GREAT.  I have one from Motherhood and one from Target and one from the Gap that is supposed to mimic a Madela one, but the Bravado is by far the most comfortable.  It stretches well (microfiber fabric) so it will adjust to your various sizes throughout the day.  Also, I am an underwire hater, I admit it, and this one doesn't have an underwire.  The only downside to the bra is that it is 45$ at most stores.  Way more than I would normally spend on a bra, but if you are going to wear it all the time I think it is worth it!  Good luck!

www.biggerbras.com has some great nursing bras. I got 2 on-line and they fit great and their prices are very good too.

I have one Elle MacPherson Maternelle bra that I absolutely LOVE. It doesn't have an underwire, but it's still supportive and super comfortable, but they are really expensive. Then in December I found one at Target that is exactly the same style, and I love it. It is by Gilligan & O'Malley I think.

I have one I LOVE by Bravado. It is a seamless microfiber bra that doesn't have underwire, but still gives support. It is super-comfy and I got a great deal on a website called breakout bras.com (with free shipping too!). Had the cheap ones from Target too...this one is way better!

All items I use are from Target. Our local Target doesn't carry them so I got them online. Perhaps try there if you haven't. I use their bras and tanks!

I agree that the ones from Motherhood Maternity seem to be the most comfortable, at least for me. I did really like the nursing tanks too, which i bought at Target. While they didn't give you as much support as a bra they were nice for use in public so people wouldn't have to see my lovely post-baby belly!

Good luck in your search!
