My seven month old started eating solids at 6 months but she really only likes rice cerealmixed with breast milk and maybe 1 or 2 other things....If we try other things she makes faces or if its too thick she will gag on it....is this normal??...How can I get her to eat other things?? and move up to things other than pureed food??

It can take up to 10 introductions before your baby will like a certain food.  If it is too thick, try to thin it out with some milk at first.  Or mix a new food with something she does like.  Also, my son will make faces at first when we give him a new food, but he will keep eating it though it seems by his face that he disgusted..:) Also, try to make sure she is actually hungry at the time you introduce a new food.  I know it is hard for me to find the balance between him being not hungry and so hungry that he doesn't want to be bothered with the slowness of eating solids.

I think at that age they like textures more then flavors, so maybe try mixing cereal with a little fruit or a veggie? My son LOVES avocado, and he'll only eat green beans if I mix it half and half. I think it's because the avocado is so smooth. Maybe she likes the way the cereal feels in her mouth. You can also try different temperatures, maybe warm your veggies or chill your fruits a little.

BLW doesn't wean off breastmilk - it just means that the baby weans (cuts out b-feedings gradually) at their own pace.  The baby decides how much solid food they want because they feed themselves.  My 8mo boy feed himself lunch and dinner (he's not too interested in breakfast) with finger-sized foods (whatever we're eating, basically) but he's still breastfeeding lots and gets most of his nutrition that way.  Check it out, it may be what you're looking for!
