I have been BF my daughter for over three months now. When she was first born I was able to pump almost everyday. Now I have alot of trouble with it. I can only do it if she has been with someone else for a while and they are full. I need help because I plan on going back to school and want to continue to BF.

I pumped exclusively for 10 months with my son. He would not BF. It may take a little more work, but it is so worth it.
I agree with everyone else. Buy a good electric dual pump. I liked the Medela Pump in Style. It is well worth the money.
I had to pump in a bathroom with my son. It was difficult to relax and also keep everything clean. I would suggest going to the school and see if there is an empty office/space you can use. All you really need is 15-20 min every 3-4 hours while you are away from your daughter. However, do pump after she eats when you are with her to keep your milk supply up.
Also get in touch with a local hospital's lacation department or La Leche League (www.llli.org)
I hope this helps.

What I did (and it worked well) was for every morning feed, I would pump on one side while she ate off the other. Only one feeding, but every morning.

Keep in mind that you don't really need a huge freezer stash for returning to work. I pumped 4 oz and used 6 oz from the freezer for my LO's first day back, and then pumped while she was in DC and I get enough to send her fresh milk the next day.

Relax as much as you can, look at pictures of your baby, and keep in mind that .5-2 oz TOTAL (from both boobs combined!) is average for a pump when you exclusively bf your baby.

Just pump after every time she feeds. Also, make sure youare using a good pump. Since you are going back to school I would reccomend a dual electric pump if you can get one. Also you can drink mother's milk tea. I think it tastes good and if you brew it and drink it according to the box it really works! Fenugreek tablets are another option, so is oatmeal for increasing your supply...

See the pinned topic for increasing milk supply.

Hope that helps!

The reasons you can't pump as much is probably because your supply has adapted to the needs of your baby.

I'll let you know it is hard and it takes commitment but when you are with your baby always nurse then pump after. And you will need to pump every 2-3 hours for at least 15 mins. when you are not with her this will ensure your milk supply. I always had trouble pumping and getting enough milk I found that if you are using an electric pump to put the setting on low until you feel your letdown then turn up the pressure. The other hard part is trying to relax in an uncomfortable setting when you are trying to pump. I hope this helps if you have more questions you can email me I have breastfed 2 kids and I am currently nursing my third
