My 3 month old daughter seems to have just gone through a major growth spurt. She spent all last week nursing constantly. This week it has let up a little, but she is still nursing alot more frequently than usual. I heard that block feeding is very effective at increasing supply. Other than feeding on one side for a few hours I dont' know much about it. Could someone please give me the details?

Block feeding is actually ment for people with too much milk or a very fast let down. It is used to balance out the amount of foremilk/hindmilk the baby gets. All you do is feed on one breast for at least 3-4 feedings before switching to the other breast. It makes sure that the breast is emptied fully before switching. For you it sounds like your babys nursing pattern is probably changing. As your baby ages and grows they change their pattern quite frequently. Your baby is becoming alot more distracted and becoming more active. Trying to sit, learning to roll, grasping objects, she is awake more now and burning more calories so you will probably notice that she will nurse for shorter periods but might nurse more often. This is all normal. When nursing her you can use a modified block feed and feed her on one breast at least 2 times before switching so that she is getting more of the fatty hindmilk at each feed.
