Up until about 6 mnths after my son was born I had a great supply of milk... but since I got my first period (In december, he's now almost 8 months) My supply has slowly been slipping lower and lower... I've tried raspberry leaf tea, I've been drinking mother's milk tea, fenugreek, and nothing is helping... Any suggestions. I called my Lac. Consult, but she hasn't gotten back to me yet. Before I was pumping 12-16 oz a day, now I'm down to 4-6 oz a day.. :( I have to work, and we're trying really hard to not feed him formula (lucky thus far) but pretty soon I'm going to go back full time, and we're not going to have enough back up milk to last.

your ob should be able to prescribe something to help your supply if you've tried everything else. also, try pumping on one side while your son nurses from the other. his sucking stimulates you best and you should see an increase almost immediately (at least it worked that way for me).

good luck!

My period killed my supply last month and I can tell I'm going to start again this week b/c of my diminished supply. I drink a ton of water everyday, take Fenugreek and eat oatmeal. I work and pump...any other suggestions for us?

I have a great trick that i used when my milk suppy was way down.  My Laleche leaue consultant recommended this to me.  Breastfeed the baby on the one breast for the next 6hrs,  then ater that time feed on the other side for the following six hours.  I found that by doing i started getting engorged on the breast i wasnt feeding,  it work very quickly.  Hope it works for you

Make sure you're drinking a lot of H2O, and enough sleep.  Funny as it sounds, these simple things can make a huge difference!  Pump every 2 hrs if you can for a while to get your supply up too.  Best of luck!
