my daughter will be 1 in under a month and she has started fighting the breast could she be wanting to wean? She loves eating people food I give her 3 meals a day and nurse her (snacks) throughout the day and she wakes about twice a night to nurse but the last few days I had to almost force her to nurse I didn't want to dry up if she isn't ready... Anybody have any tips? thanks!

It sounds more like a nursing strike than weaning to me.

Sounds like a nursing strike. She'll probably want to nurse again in a few days.

My daughter is just over a year. She has lost interest in some feedings, like the one between breakfast and lunch. She eats three solid meals a day. She nurses when she wakes up, before nap, a snack between lunch and dinner and before bed. She usually wakes up once to nurse at night. If your baby all of a sudden doesn't want to nurse then it's probably a nursing strike or a distracted baby. Does she still want to nurse when she's sleepy? When baby self weans then she will gradually drop a nursing session until they're all gone. If she wants to cut out a feeding or two then that's ok. She can have more solids now. If you want to keep nursing then keep offering. It took me a couple weeks to figure out when my daughter really wanted to nurse and when she wanted solids.
