Can anybody recommend a goog sling I could use when I go out and that also has a cover for nursing? My baby hates the stroller! Thanks!

I have the Moby Wrap, which can be used for carrying the baby at different ages up to 35lbs and also for nursing. I haven't used it for nursing, I actually use a "hooter cover" and love it. :)

I use many different carriers. Ring slings are good for covering up, but personally, I was never very good at nursing in them. I prefer to nurse in a wrap with my baby in a hip carry. Otherwise, I just take my kids out of the carrier and hold them while using the carrier as a cover.

I love wraps for newborns and cold weather. I put mine on in the morning under my coat and leave it on all day, whether or not the baby is in it. I love slings for bigger babies and warmer weather (when I don't have to wear a coat). Mei Tais or soft structured carriers (like the Ergo) are great for toddlers and back carries.

I agree that you should shop around and try out several different kinds. If you can find a babywearing group near you, or just other moms that babywear locally, most moms will let you try their carriers on to see which is more comfortable for you. It's also helpful to have other moms helping you put the carriers on, because they can be a bit tricky to figure out on your own. Finally, I've never bought a carrier... I've made all mine. Homemade ring slings and wraps are super easy (my wrap is just six yards of fabric 20 inches wide). If you have any sewing experience, or know anyone who sews, check out http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/ for instructions on making a variety of baby carriers.

I like the Maya Wrap ring sling. It's easier than a pouch sling to nurse in and the tail creates the perfect nursing cover.

Everyone has their own opinion as to what works best for them.... I personally own 2 maya wraps, 2 zolowear slings and a collection of hotslings style pouch slings.... I like those the best, the pouch ones that is, but they are not as discreet for nursing.. My recomendation... shop on eBay for various styles that you can get cheaper... once you decide what you like, spend the money for a good one....

Maya Wrap is decent, and the "tail" is long enough to use as a cover up for nursing. I prefer the Ergo Baby Carrier for carrying baby around. You can nurse in it, but not as discreetly as with the Maya Wrap.
