I have been breastfeeding for almost 11 months now and for the past month of so I have noticed a white bump directly on my nipple. It has slightly grown in size overtime and my daughter still adequately nurses on that size. It does not pop like a pimple, doesnt hurt, its just there! At first I thought it was just a little clogged milk but shouldn't it have unclogged by now? Sorry for the TMI but I am getting worried!

I stopped nursing about 6 months ago but i still leak :s anyway I had this too it was almost like a blister. it hurt and when it came in contact with material it stung so I have to pad myself up, It eventually dried up turned black and fell off. I was told its just a milk blister. But if its been a month i would just ask the doc for some help, you shouldn't be in pain for that long

sigh...I had something like that...it turned flesh colored and grew a bit more, ended up being a skin tag...right on my nipple. I'd like to somehow get rid of it, but I'm now nursing my 2nd daughter and will have to wait.

Maybe try a warm cloth / making sure it gets soaked in warm (not hot!) water in the shower? Sorry, that's all I've ever had to do to clear a white spot. Has happened to me a few times, and warmth followed by a feed with strong sucking cleared it every time. Most effective first thing in the morning when bub's quite hungry.

I had that too. I thought it was a callous or something. It didn't hurt me and the baby still nursed so I never did anything about it. Sadly, she weaned herself at 11 months and I'm pumping now. The bump went away. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I had that too - it even has a name its called a bleb - truely. Mine did eventually go away after a couple of months. sometimes they pop with a little blood but as long as you keep it clean so it doesn't get infected its not really a problem. Google Bleb and it will tell you all you need, but you don't need to worry :-)

I developed something on my nipple when I was nursing that kinda looked like a mole, but it wasn't... Then all of a sudden it went away... It was the same color as my nipple though... Just wanted to throw that out there.

I have a reoccurring problem with milk blisters, and they hurt A LOT when baby nurses. They block your milk flow and clog up the duct, so I would think you would feel that.
So I don't think that's what you have...? But I'm not a doctor.

Thank you for the link! That seems to be what it is...now just to figure out how to get it to go away because it clearly isnt going to on its own!

I have had that too, and it eventually went away. If you are really concerned I would ask your doctor.
