I recently stopped pumping/breastfeeding my 1 yr old son about 2 weeks ago. My breasts are killing me with sore spots/lumps in them. It almost feels like when you have a blocked duct. I have tried heating pads and massaging the sore spots and nothing is helping. They hurt to the slightest touch. Any suggestions? I see my dr. in a week for my annual check up and will check w/ him but am hurting in the meantime.

you may have a clogged duct. when you stop breastfeeding your body still produces milk. the best no medicine way to dry up your milk is to put cabbage leaves on your breast. I know it sounds crazy, but it works!! When I stopped breastfeeding my middle child I got so engorged my breast felt like rocks and very painful. I ran to the store to buy a head of cabbage put it in the freezer to get it cold faster and put the leaves in my nursing bra. in a matter of an hour i felt so much better. And it only cost the price of a head of cabbage.
