Supply drop after being sick. any suggestions?

I was REALLY sick over the weekend, I tried to pump so my husband could feed the baby while i was unavailable (puking!!), but on two occasions was only able to get 4 oz. ( My son is 6 mo and eats 6-8oz a feeding) Since then my son has seemed unsatisfied and cranky after feeding and i have had to pull from the freezer to fill him up. I tried pumping again and only got 5 oz. it is strange because I am usually an over producer. I have a back up supply but am worried i will run through it quickly at this rate.

I plan on using a lactation tea that i had when he was a newborn. I have also heard of "power pumping" I guess you just pump every 10 min after your baby goes to sleep for 1 hour. If you do this every night for a week it is supposed to increase your supply.

I was just hoping that i could get some other suggestions/comments on the power pumping or other ways people have increased their supply after a situation like this.

I am having the same problem, only I got sick for a week and had a fever one of the days I was sick. I am not exactly sure how to increase my supply either, I'm taking fenugreek also. If u do find something that works plz let me know. thanks

Fenugreek helps. Make sure you get plenty of liquids or maybe gatoraide to replenish electrolytes lost when you threw up. Also oatmeal. It replaces iron stores. Around my period when my supply lowers, eat tons of real oatmeal (steel cut oats).

I am having this same problem..but I was sick for about a week..and so were my twins..that's right I'm having supply issues with 2! babies..I'm glad to see I'm not the only one..well actually no I'm not..but if you find something that REALLY works please let me know.

I had the same problem..I got some kind of stomach flu and had a very hard time BF..it lasted about 24hours. Since I was already established in my milk supply as soon as we were back in routine my supply went back to normal. Just keep hydrated eat oatmeal and do your extra pumping while baby is asleep and putting baby to the breast as much as possible and you will be back in business lol!
