My doc prescribed Nystatin. My lactation consultant suggested 1 tblspoon vinegar in 1 cup warm water and apply after every feeding and allow to air dry. Also, eat yogurt and stay away from sugar. It helps speed the healing process. Make sure you wash everything your milk touches in hot water and also if your baby uses a pacifier boil it too. It can be very painful for you. I never thought something like that would hurt so much.

My daughter and I passed thrush back and forth for a month and a half. I was prescribed Diflucan by my midwife and the baby had the Nystatin drops for her mouth. Kellymom.com helped a lot. The Gentian violet is awesome. Calcium and yogurt helped me a lot. Ask your doctor about AP nipple ointment which works wonders.God bless you it is nasty stuff.

washing before & after feeds helps. let nipples air dry, yeast thrives in a moist environment. acidopholous and gentian violet are affective natural ways to treat thrush. check out www.askdrsears.com for helpful advice.
