When you're ready, I'd replace the nursing with pumping (unless you're willing to let him self-wean and only wean yourself from the pump). Then slowly start cutting back how much you pump. For me, I just weaned from the pump during the days I work, although I am still nursing my daughter during weekends and night. I was pumping 6 times per day. So I just cut down the amount I pumped - i.e., if 5 oz was normal, I'd only pump until I got to 4 oz, did that for 3 days, then pumped until I got 3.5 oz out, did that for a few days, pumped out 3 oz then stopped, etc.

I am mostly pumping but I do BF at night. I wont have a problem weening my son though. He has no problem with the bottle.

Are you exclusively pumping? If so, then there's an easier way to do it.

So do you just stop or go longer between feedings (pumping)? Thanks for the tips, I had heard something about the cabbage leaves but not the sage.

Sage (drinking it in tea) and putting cabbage leaves in your bra (sounds weird but I've heard it helps) both help. That being said, with weaning, your breasts SHOULD dry up fine (and painlessly) on their own.
