My DD has a teribble cold and ear infection. For the las t few days, she has not been able to nurse properly. I've tried to pump and give it her in a bottle, which she hates! To add to the misery of a cold, she is hungry. I've tried steam in the shower, vicks vapo pads, humdifer etc. no help, anyone have any ideas? TY

Saline drops and a snot sucker. Also, I don't know how old your daughter is, but we use hyland's homeopathic c-plus cold tablets when all else fails. And it sounds like all else has failed. With those, you have to give one every fifteen minutes for the first hour, then every hour until symptoms disappear. A health food store would have them.
Hope your little girl is better soon! It's horrible to see your baby so miserable.

my mother-in -law swears by this and i tried it on myself when i was pregnant (because i couldn't take any medications) and it worked for me.

My son gets a stuffy nose and coongetion every time he cuts a tooth and through the trials I've found what works best for him is a combination of saline first, wait 10-15 min then the nose sucker (if he lets me) then I use the baby vicks rub on his chest back under nose and feet (yea it's weird but someone suggested it and it seems to work) then put socks on. Good luck! I know it's heart wrenching.

Have you tried putting a drop of saline nose wash in her nostrils? I have my little guy lay down and then I tip the bottle (I don't squeeze it) and let a drop of saline go into his nostril. That's always helped by little one. (By the way - I'm not sure how I got to this section on facebook, but saw your question and had to reply!)
