My boyfriend and I are trying to move into our own apartment, but that requires me getting a job to help pay the bills. At first it was really easy going back and forth from the bottle to breast with my daughter, but in the last month she simply refuses the bottle. Not that I wasn't happy about that since I was having troubles with her wanting to latch..but now I need her to take the bottle and she doesn't want it. How do I get her to take a bottle?? I still want to give her breast milk, but I need her to feed from the bottle so I can work.

I went away for two days last year and at the hour of my leaving my baby would not take a bottle. When I returned home she was a fully fledged bottle drinker.... I think the key was i wasn't there. Someone very patient just kept offering it to her till she realised there was no other option. My hubby did try a few different bottles and teets to get one she liked. When I came home from retreat she wouldn't take a bottle from me (fresh stuff on tap). but she would always take one from dad if I wasn't around.

How old is she? Was she cranky/fussy or just didn't want to drink any? As long as she's not really cranky and hungry and just wont take the bottle she should be fine. My daughter would barely drink any milk at all until I came home when i would go out. Some babies will just not drink any or drink just enough to not be hungry while moms gone, and then when mommy comes home they nurse a ton to make up for missed feedings. Its kind of like reverse cycling. Don't worry too much, a baby won't starve themself.

She refuses completely...grandma was watching her and we weren't even home and she wouldn't take it

Have you tried a sippy cup? If they're still small, you just take the "spill proof" thingy out of the cup and kinda let it drip in. ALSO is she not taking the bottle when you are there or is she completely refusing it even when you aren't there for hours? A lot of times babies won't take a bottle from mom even if they had before. They get smarter and realize the fresh stuff is right there ;) lol
