I wanted to use washable nursing pads... but I have no idea where to begin. Any one know of any good sites?

I use washable pads and love them. This is my 2cd time and that is all I use. I have found them at babies r us and K-mart in our area. They have always worked well with me. I dont like the fill of the deposable ones. They slide around or you have to try getting it in the right place to stick it on. I would take my washable ones any day over disposable.

I use the Medela washable, but I didn't start using them til my son was a little older, like 5 months, so I wasn't leaking very much. I don't like using them overnight, but I much prefer them during the day.

You can find them anywhere. I agree with the previous posts about making sure they are breathable. If you do decide to buy washable, get a lingerie bag strictly for them; it makes laundry a lot easier. I used those with my first baby and didn't like havng to change them all the time and the 'soggy' feeling that they got after being on for a while; this time around I am using disposable. Consider getting a nursing/nipple creame to help protect your nipples. I found that it helped somewhat when I used washable pads.

I also found some at Target and Babies R Us. Just be sure to spend a few extra dollars and don't get the really cheap ones--I found them to be rough and irritating. But really, I use the disposable ones (Johnson's) because the washable ones were not sufficient for me. I leaked through them, especially at night.

You can come by them pretty easily. I got mine at Babies R Us and love them. They even came in mesh bags to use when you wash them so you don't lose any. As far as the laundry goes.... if you have enough, it's really not causing you to do any extra loads.

I used the washable nursing pads with my first baby and I didnt like them. I found that I was constantly leaking through them expecially at night. They have to be breathable so you dont end up with thrush but because of that they are made of cotton and there is nothing to stop your milk from soaking them until you leak through your shirt. I ended up not using them after a while and just going back to the disposable ones. You do go through alot of them thats for sure and doing alot more laundry too!

My husband bought mine at Target, so they should be pretty easy to come by. Just make sure they are breathable, with no plastic or anything like that in them. Buy a bunch of them as well, because if you're anything like me you will go through a lot!
