I would like to wean my 13 month old little boy Cameryn. I am a teacher and I started back to work in August and I am not pumping during the day this year. He has strictly been on breastmilk. He will not even eat food from me except for certain occasions. I need some tips and/or advice. I love breastfeeding him and I am so blessed to have done it for his first year. But I would like to start weaning. I still leak also so I would like some tips on myself in this process. Thanks So much

Thanks You and good advice. I've been trying to introduce milk to him for a while and he just makes a awlful face and spits it out. I guess I'll just keep trying. But my daughter is 2 and a half and she still will only drink the milk out of her cereal. But she lives on cheese and macaroni and cheese so I guess she's getting her dairy. I nursed her until she was 10 months because I became pregnant with my baby boy and my body stopped producing milk or who knows how long I would have nursed her.

i use to wear breastpads to stop the leaking coming through my clothes, it worked pretty well. as for the weaning i had to wean my son at 13 months because he ripped open the bottom of my nipples by biting and pulling so i just stopped cold turkey. it was hard the first night but over the next 2 days he surprised me and got better and better and he ate better and slept better too. my son never really ate anything except breastmilk too andi found once id weaned he started eating like crazy. i think at that age just stopping completely might be one of the best ways to do it. one thing though is if hes not drinking milk try get him onto milk in a bottle / cup before weaning. my son was 13 months when he came off the breast and it took me 3 months to get him to drink milk!
