What are your childrens nicknames and why?

Gabriella-her siblings and I call her sister. My husband gave her the nickname goober. Dont know where he got it he just started calling her that.



Matthew- we called matty, chew, or mattchew since he chews on everything.



Shyannah- the kids started calling her shyshy. Im sure its because they couldnt say her name. And sometimes if you ask her her name she will say shyshy.



Mackenzie-again the kids have been calling her kenny since she was a baby. daddy likes to call her mack like a Mack truck. She is our biggest one.



Christopher and Skyler dont have any nicknames. Except we do call Christopher Chris usually.

I call my son bug because at the hospital they had him wrapped up so tight and cute he he looked like those little glow worms for babies. He reminded me of a bug. Now we have several other nicknames for him like Mr. Drooly, boog and what ever else he gets called.

My eldest, Jonathan, is known as Jon-boy, dumplin (diddle diddle dumplin) or smila, my second son is known as spud, he's just the staple of the family, life revolves around him as he's autistic, and finally my daughter Amelia is known as princess leia from star wars, my eldest is a huge fan. She often gets just princess or lia, or sometimes Amy!

My nickname growing up was bubbles as I used to blow saliva bubbles all the time as a baby, my mum still calls me that!

We call Samantha all kinds of nicknames LOL Depends on the situation. If she's scooting along on her butt (which she normally does) it's Scooter or Monkey butt (she reminds me of a little monkey because she butt-scoots sideways, it's hilarious), if she's army crawling it's JeepersCreepers, when she snuggles her face into someone's neck/cleavage it's Snuglebutt, or my personal fave is RockStar because EVERY time music or some kind of beat is played, she bops up and down, headbangs, and sings. She's a big fan of The Who and The Rolling Stones. Start em young!!



One nickname that I alone use is "My". As in My baby, My cutie, My snuggle, etc :)

My oldest doesn't really have a nickname... well besides Monster. We sometimes call the 6mo Popeye, when he was younger he would squint one eye and keep one eye open wide. He still does it every once in a while, it's so cute.

my first son was Roo- from winnie the pooh, now he really doesnt have a nickname anymore, his name is Jett and some times I call him Jett man

my daughter was little miss muffett when she was a baby, not anymore though, her name is Evelyn and we call her Miss Evelyn

our youngest is superman because when he was still a newborn he used to raise his arms above his head all the time like he was superman flying, sometimes I also call him woogy-boogy but I dont know why.

my kids have about a million nick names and it just depends on what mood we are in.

My son is xavier----- xave, fred, and chucky! xave for the obvious fred I have no clue why but he get called that a lot, and my brother gave him chucky cause he says his eyes are freaky dark like the chucky doll! not my favorite but it has turned into something kinda cute between them and my brother now gets called uncle chucky.

abbygail---- abby, peanut, and monkey cause she climbs on everything. peanut cause she is so tiny, abby for the ob.

I call my little one bug or buggers. Her name is Layla and her dad started saying "Laylabug" and then it just went from there. and I think she's as cute as a bug.:)

Lillian is "Lily" or "Lily Lou" or "Bella" or "Bella Boo" Lily and Lily Lou are pretty self explanitory but I started calling her Bella and Bella Boo because Bella means beautiful.



Kylie is "Ky" or "Kiki" or "Stinky" and sometimes even her full name "Kylie Mae" Ky is also self explanitory but I told my hubby in the hosp I liked Kiki for short and it has stuck. She is called stinky cuz she is a gassy baby and lets out the loudest farts.



With Kylie Mae and Lily Lou we also sing the Buddy Holly song of "Peggy Sue" putting our girls names in. Lily giggles and Kiki grins (Ky is only 5 months).

Jonathan is "Jon" or "Bobby" wich is my special pronunciation of Baby when I am talking to him.

Katrina is: "Bean" or "Trina Beana" not sure where she got it, but she'll tell you her name is "big one big one Beana Trina" She's 3

Eliana, I call Eli (Eh- Lye) Some say it Eh-lee.... she's only 4 mo. I find it takes till about their 2nd year for a nickname to take hold. For Eliana, it even took a while after she came home for us to feel like the name really fit her.

My daughter is 3 and we call her 'ma pina' or 'ga-goots' .. Not sure why, but her dad started those and they've just kinda stuck.. My husband is italian and I think they're italian.. although I'm not sure what they translate to..

and our son we call geeg (my husband wanted to name him gigi) ..

i have 3 girls, the oldest always got goose, because she's silly as a goose, middle one, her uncle has always called her tiny and i call her kai kai, her name is kaidyn and the youngest i like to call meggie lou, her name is meghan shirley louise, i will call her this and sing buddy hollys peggie sue, substituting meggie lou for all the peggie sues.

Goober and Goob are the nicknames I use for my son...I know that the name came from my dad who used it for my little sister (although I have 4 sisters and 1 brother and don't know why that nickname stuck and others didn't). My husband calls our son Handsome. Our son is named Van so we also call him things like "mini-van", "van halen", "Van Damn"...really whatever works for the moment!

Tasman has a million of them and they are mostly silly. We call him Taz-Taz, Tazmabubbles, Tazamaspaz when he's being funny. Before he was born we called him Fish because it felt like he was flipping around in there like a fish. He is named for the Tasman Sea and for the explorer Abel Tasman, since his dad wants to take him sailing when he grows up.

My husband called our son "little hobbit" because he ate 2nd breakfast, 2nd lunch, etc...as a baby, and still wants between meal nibbles.
