What is the strangest place you have breastfed your baby?

I also feed where ever and whenever. I like going to the movies during the day and take my ltlle guy along. No-one seems to mind and I just pop him on when he gets hungry.

There is a very long, dark stretch of highway in northern Nevada where there are no lights and there is no place to pull off the highway. It would be too dangerous to try to pull off the road. We were driving this lonely highway in the middle of the night when our daughter woke up and was screaming to be fed. She absolutely refused to take a bottle, so what's a mother to do? I leaned over and nursed her back to sleep while she was still strapped in her carseat! It was very awkward, and my husband thought I was an idiot for not just taking her out of her seat, but it worked...

During my six week check-up last week, I ended up breastfeeding my baby while getting my pap smear. So far that is the strangest place for me.

i dont mind bf-ing in public though it is slighty awkward at times depending on the circumstance... but at the end on the day... if my bubba needs to feed, HE IS GOING TO BE FED :)

i had to go to the dentist and jayden was sleeping when we first went in but the middle of my cleaning he decided feeding time so i fed him the whole time i got my teeth cleaned! thank god i love my hygeinist and after that appt. i was driving home felt sick and had to stop at the wendy's resturaunt and had to go... and he still wanted to eat yeah i know gross but gotta do what ya gottta do

I think the strangest place was sitting on the hood of a car while my husband and his friends worked on their truck! I've breast fed everywhere. I use to always cover up, but as soon as my daughter could pull off the cover, I just decided "to hell with modesty" and gave up! I'm not bothered at all by it anymore, although I try to be somewhat discrete.

No matter where I am and no matter who is around, I dont care, if my daughter is hungry I am going to feed her. I try to stay covered but sometimes shes kicking or too hot to be covered. I think its a natural thing and most people wont get offended by it

I felt strange feeding my first baby in public- even when I found the most secluded places possible and covered up.

Now, nursing baby #3, there is no place that feels strange to feed her.

We've nursed:
On the public transit,
in the store,
at the bank while waiting for Dad to return for us.
at the park
at the bus stop
at work
at friends homes
at church- in the nursery, the fellowship hall, the sanctuary(not during a service though) in the lobby...
in my own home of course- and when people are visiting.

I cover up depending on the scenario but for the most part, I don't cover any more- just discreetly lift my shirt and pull down the under shirt and feed my baby. She's 6 months old and to anyone who is just passing by, it just looks like I'm cuddling my baby.

I would hav to say the place I probly felt most awkward was my tdoc. It was my first appointment too and I hadn't even practiced nursing with a cover. I don't think she would let me do that now. I nurse in changing rooms while in public places, and it feels sort of funny to me. But reading all these post has givin me an idea. I think i'll try feeding her while sitting in her stroller. sometimes while in the store i sit in it anyways, why not have my boyfriend push me around while nursing. lol

at a water park, I was off to the side of a ride but almost right next to where people were getting out of the pool, he was 4 months old at the time and I didnt want to have to change out of my suit and find a more private place. he wont let me cover up either if i try he pulls it off. the only trouble i have ever had was at walmart i asked to use a changing room and when my mother came in to help me get situated the walmart employee complained about both of us being in there.

I'd have to say the most frequent is in restaurants (baby's usually hungry when we are), but also in malls, parking lots, the movie theatre, church, weddings, and the most unusual would be a tie between walking through Tijuana, Mexico and on the slow rides in Disneyland!

planes, restaurants, bathrooms, malls, walking through a museum, and many others. My strangest experience was when we were eating at a Korean restaurant. I was nursing covered up and the waitress walks up to me and just pulls off the covering as if she didn't even know so she could see the baby!! She was in for a surprise... She didn't seem to care much but I didn't like her just pulling the covering off without any warning or even asking.

Im a first time breastfeeding mom, i feel very strongly about BF'ing. I was really shy at first about feeding in public, but i purchased a sling and absolutely LOVE it, i have gotten some weird looks while im walking through the store but a lot of people dont realize what im doing. when my son is hungry, he isnt waiting for me to find a private spot to feed him. although i usually find a semi- secluded to expose and for him latch and get settled... ive learned i get less dirty looks for breastfeeding then i do when my kid is screaming bloody murder because hes hungry lol

We were closing on our condo, and my baby was hungry, so I breastfed right there! The attorney didn't seem to mind. I always use a cover, so I can breastfeed in public whenever necessary.

My goodness, I don't think it ever even occured to me to be embarassed about bfing in public! I've nursed during weddings, in restaurants, leaning over her carseat while my husband drove, while shopping, waiting at the doctors, during a cervical examination, in the tub, on the toilet, on a wagon hitched to a tractor, at parks and fairs, I never cover up...my DD pulls the covers off anyways. I'm sure I must get some strange looks, but I hardly notice! Good job to everyone else ignoring others ignorance and making the best choice for your little ones!

In 15 years of breastfeeding I've nursed everywhere! I AM modest though. I had to nurse in the ER once while my hubby got stitches, this year at my 7th grader's football game, at parent/teacher conferences for my big kids, while boating at the lake(that's hard cause the life jacket for babe is puffy!), during my Sunday School, really everywhere.....

I'd say the bathroom at Walmart or the bathroom at Toysrus. Neither had benches or chairs away from the exit door that I could use(with it cold not a great pace to sit) and I don't like to walk and feed her (as pushing stroller is hard). So, I just go to bathroom. At Walmart, I put paper towels on floor and sat there. At Toysrus, I stole the little kid step stool to sit on

Weirdest place was in the back of a pickup truck (with a cap on it) in a shopping mall parking lot.
My Mom and sister were paying so went to feed my daughter in the truck but forgot to get the keys - my daughter was having a fit, only a couple of months old, so crawled into the back of the truck and fed her there, lol...

We travel a lot for my job (I'm a volleyball coach) so I have fed on planes, trains, and buses. The most interesting location was at the Junior Olympic Nationals Volleyball Tournament my son was 4 months old and crying as I was on the court coaching. I had numerous families and moms there that supported me as a BFing Mom and so they brought him to me on the sidelines as I was coaching and I covered up and fed him right there as my girls played on the court.

My daughter was only 15 days old and I had never nursed in public. Besides our home, I had only fed her at my parents or my in-laws home. But, I had to go to the BMV. And yep, she was hungry. There is no private spot in the entire building. Then after waiting 1 1/2 hours for my name to be called and as soon as she latched on- they called me up. I had to walk in front at least 50 people trying to still feed, carry my paperwork, purse and her car seat. There was one nice gentleman that offered to carry my stuff- so thank you to him.

Well, I belonged to the LeLeche league in Los Angeles California and we'd take hikes into the Santa Monica Mountains and then we'd stop for breastfeeding breaks.

i would say disney world on a bench at the exit to a ride, my daughter was almost 4 months old and i normaly cover myself but it was like 95 degrees outside and i was sweating to death so all i used was a burp cloth and placed it between my breast and her mouth...lets just say it made my husband a little unconfortable

strangest place was at a water park next to the kids pools and slides. My baby was only a few months old and i was watching my daughter swim so i was nursing and walking around keeping a close eye on my 4 yr old. My husband saw me and and stormed over and told me to go sit down and some parents might find it offensive for their kids to see me breastfeeding. I was very upset with him, he embarrassed me.

it seems strange at first but you'll gain confidence and not even notice other people. the first time i had to breast feed in public was at the airport the only seat free was next to a whole group of soldiers, i may be a wife of a soldier but it was quiet confronting for me at the time now i look back and laugh i look at it i no longer own my breast they are my sons food source there fore he now owns them. as crazy as it sounds its works for me lol

Outside a shopping mall in front of the entrance while I was standing. There just wasn't any time to go anywhere comfy as she was near screaming fit scenario. So I just stood there and fed her with masses of people walking past. Other places include the train, restaurants, anywhere really. If she's hungry I'll wip it out. She's now almost 14 months and I'm still b/f. She is now at the stage where she'll even pull my shirt up in order to access my breast. When she's done, she pulls it back down again.

I have to agree with you...wal mart is the worst. I got so many dirty looks when i b/f my daughter there. But instead of going somewhere and hiding i just held my head up high and stared people down that dared to give me a dirty look.

You'll be glad to know that the sister company in the UK - Asda - in most cases is pretty good, there is usually a baby changing room with a comfy chair.  Good on both of you for not caring about who was watching
