Hi girls, My baby girl is a week short of 9 months and she hasnt started crawling yet. My sister-in-law was walking by 9 months!
She can wiggle around and get around by commando crawling but not actually crawling. Any ideas? Ive tried helping her and showing her (even though i make a fool of myself, haha) but still no crawling.

Thanks everyone for you posts. Ella is able to pull her self up on things to stand so maybe commando is her crawl and she will be walking soon. I will keep you posted though on how we go. =D

Mine started around 7 mo. My girlfriend's still aren't crawling and they are 10 mo. Don't worry. It really depends on the amount of time they spend on their tummies. Also do you keep your baby in an exersaucer or bouncy seat a lot? Those things can impact when your baby crawls BUT the biggest factor is when your baby is ready. It will be here before you know it...then you really have to start baby proofing, LOL!

My first crawled at 8 1/2 months, and didn't walk until 14 months. My second started crawling at 5 1/2 months. I think she'll probably be walking by 9 months.
Just let her have belly time. You can't make her crawl- she will when she's developmentally ready to, or won't at all even and just start pulling up and walking.

Mine didn't! lol! My daughter bum shuffled and never actually crawled properly. She started walking at 11 months! One of my friends in my mums group had the same issue! Her son would commando crawl but not actually get up and crawl properly until he was about 10 months. I wouldn't worry too much every baby is different and she will do it in her own time or she may skip it and start walking. Keep encouraging her and it will come! Hope this helps

My daughter was 8 months. But I have a daycare in my house and all of them have done it at a different age. Some just think its easier to wiggle, others get up and walk right away. She'll be doing it before you know it! Then the chase is really on.
