When will my cycle return?

Hello! I'm just curious of when everyones cycles returned back to "normal". My daughter is almost 7 weeks and I wouldn't mind not having it for awhile (who wouldn't!).

I know everyone is different, just curious.

My son is 13 months, and still no sign of my cycle. I was back at work after 2 months, but pumped during the day. My son's been having solids for quite awhile now, so I think the fact that he still nurses at night has a lot to do with my cycle not retuning yet.

With my first I got it back once I started on birth control at 2 1/2 months, and with my second she is 4 months old and haven't gotten it yet.

Alot of people don't get a cycle right away but I always get my cycle back quickly. The first time at 10wks and this time at 8wks.

it is different for every woman and each of her babies. my mother EBF all three of her children, with her first her cycle returned six weeks to the day after she gave birth but with the other two her cycle didn't return until we self weaned at about 13 months. with me, my first is now six months old. she was EBF until about 3 1/2 months when she started cereal, my cycle returned when she about 61/2 weeks old. though it has been a little erratic, every 4-8 weeks, i have still been getting it.

If you breastfeed exclusively it can takes 6 months or more to come back, natures way of baby spacing. If you supplement though with formula it could come back sooner. I think the rule is if you nurse at least 8 times a day it will hold of your cycle for at least 6 months.

It depends.....if you're breastfeeding, it could take up to six months until it comes back, if you're bottle feeding, it might take two to three months to come back
