I used Medula...it's better to rent than own. I nursed by first son without it-he nursed for 9 months, my second (a daugther-with it) she nursed for 2 yrs and my last son (with it) and he nursed for 8 months. Once the boys get active and moving they lost interest in nursing, but I kept pumping and used in their cereal and out of the sippy cups. I hope this helps.

Had been using the Lansinoh double pump; not bad for the price though loud. Due to the size of my nipples, breast felt it wasn't strong enough. Just bought the Medela free style.....double the price but so far worth it. It's lightweight, much quieter and portable. I can unplugg and travel bring it from room to room without issues. I'm eager to set up the handsfree component so I can walk around the house, work on the computer, etc and still pump.....I better start warning people to call b4 they come over or they might catch me with my shirt down and my breast being pumped...lol

I bought the Medela pump-in-style and lost suction in 2 wks! replaced it and only lasted 4 wks. I know I didn't overuse it, I'm a stay at home mom so I nurse 95% of the time. I only pump so my hubby can help with night feedings once in a blue mom. Any suggestions?

It depends on what you need. I need gentle that would not hurt... the whittlestone all the way. It was worth every penny. I also have a playtex that I really like. The flanges are large and do not create sore nipples.

Any hospital grade is good everyone always say Medela is the best this is only because it is a popular brand that's it. When we bought our breast pump we tried them all and finally went with the Ameda Purley Yours it works great my friends and family took the other pumps we bought and they haven't had any problems

I would go with Medela. If you hunt the outlets, you can sometimes find them at a reduced price. I was able to find mine for half off ONLY because the box itself had been opened (nothing else...everything was still sealed!)

I by far think the Medela is the best. Its pricey but I gave mine a run for its money and it was awesome. I bought mine on ebay brand new for a fraction of what it cost in the store.

I have 3 Medela pumps: the reg Pump in Style, the Pump in Style Advanced, and also the Freestyle. I find that the Freestyle works the best and is very similar to the hospital grade Symphony (that I'd rented just for comparison's sake). I expressed more milk by far, in comparison. And, I like the SoftFit flanges the best. The only drawback is that they warp within a few weeks..but well worth it anyhow. :) Good luck!!

I have an avent duo that I really like and have used for 2 kids now. I have a medela hand pump that I keep in the car for emergencies and I like that too .

I love my Medela Swing pump. It is also recommended by the Australian breastfeeding association. It is easy to use, fast and quiet.
