What is your favorite thing about breastfeeding? Mine would have to be when my daughter Elan looks up with absolutely trusting eyes. It makes my heart melt to think that she could love me so much!

i love the milk coma we both feel somuch more relaxed and just happy to cuddle for a little while. and i know it sounds completely selfish but the fact that only i can do it gives me a very special bond with her

I agree with you ladies, I love when she is nursing and then starts to smile and giggle while still holding on. She sometimes then turns her head and looks at me, laughs and then turns her head and smooshes her face back onto my breast lol!! She is just sooo cute!

Eliana is my third baby to nurse. I love how she stops nursing to look up at me and smile, sometimes coo at me a little and then she turns back to my breast and eats some more. She is the first baby with this nursing style and I find it very sweet even if it does prolong the session a tiny bit.

I agree that the smile while nursing is super cute, but I also love it when my 3 month old daughter grabs onto my shirt or bra with her top hand and sometimes gently rubs my side with her bottom hand. I just love how the breastfeeding relationship works, how comforting it is to them and how relaxing it is to both of us. Plus on a scientific note, I've been reading a lot lately about how good it is for the development of their brains. Certin neurons become attached only in breastfed babies. No wonder they statisticly have higher IQ's.

The Milk Coma :) That complete and utter relaxation where they are happy and content and oh-so-full and their life is just perfect :) The look on their faces is awesome! I missed that after my first weaned himself and now I get to experience it all over again with my current nursling :)

Early morning snuggling/sleep nursings under the covers with my baby when it's chilly.

Or last night when my ten month old learned she could play peek a boo with my boobs by putting my shirt over them and then lifting it to find they were still there. Lol, loved the look of delight on her face! She had to snack each time she found them. Haha.

Kirsten and Allison, I am with you. I love the smile and giggle with the nipple still in her mouth. It is soooo cute! I am also loving a new thing she is doing. She pulls me by the neck toward her and hugs my face to her face (she is 16 months) while still eating.

My daughter will touch my mouth while she's feeding, specially when I'm in a conversation... I just love the way her little hands feel, and then sometimes I give a soft bite and she starts smiling and laughing but not letting go of her boob! ;)

I think it's cute when my son gets distracted by his environment...if his daddy or someone he knows starts talking near him he will stop sucking and listen and look for a little bit and then )continue on his merry way :o)

I will have to agree with you kirsten. My son will start smiling if i talk to him or something while he is nursing and I think it is the most adorable thing ever.

I love it when my son is in the middle of nursing and all the sudden starts laughing with my nipple in his mouth. It is so adorable!
