I have a 3 year old son who, as of yesterday now has to wear an eye patch for 4 hours a day. Suprisingly he is actually really good with it and doesnt try to take it off at all. He's so good with it I wonder if I should keep it on for more than 4 hours a day? I think the doctor was asuming that he wouldn't keep the patch on and that 4 hours was enough untill he got used to it. I'm wondering if I have him wear the patch longer will it make the sight in his bad eye better quicker or will it do more damage than good? Does the eye need time without the patch on as well?

I think it would depend on why he's wearing the eye patch to begin with. I'd give your doctors office a call and see if he can just answer the question for you.
