C-section without drugs

I am scheduled in 14 days for a c-section (my second, actually). During my first c section the doctor convinved me to use morphine and two vicodin, even though I knew I was allergic. After I had my baby I spent the next 15 hours profusely puking about 30 times. This time around I am going to have no opiate based pain killers.
Has anyone else gone through a csection with no narcotics?

You need the nacotics & pain killers. A side effect of all pain meds is puking, that does not mean you are allergic to them.

What you do is talk to your anesthesiologist who will be doing your epidural & giving the meds that the last time you had a bad experience & you vomited your head off. They will take good care of you & give you large doses of anitnausea meds or use more versed than morphine.

But as for a narcotic free c-section, it can't happen because the drugs are going into your spine also. Your nurse will also have antinausea meds to give you after surgery too.

Sorry you had a bad time. I have 3 c-sections & vomited after them all.
