I still have pain in my incision area sometimes...and it's been 2 years. A lot of it depends on the stitching and the way your body heals. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but if you are concerned, I would talk to your doctor.

My c-section was over a year ago, but i did have similar experience. I was told that sometimes your body could react to the internal stitches in different ways...the most common having a bump or swelling. antibiotics should do the trick if it doesn't clear itself up

I also had that and it turned out to be an internal ingrown hair. With the way the sew up the incision it may be growing internally across the opening. My doctor was ablet o remove it with some lidocaine in the office. By the next day the pain was gone.

I just got my period again, 8 months after my c-section and the incision hurt bad enough for me to be taking painkillers. If I'm especially tired it's the same thing.

A C-section is a major operation. I have had 2 c-sections and they do take awhile to heal. If you only had it 3 weeks ago, you're body still needs time to heal. Don't push it and try to over do things. Make sure that you're still getting lots of rest and don't lift anything heavier than your baby for 6 weeks (even if you do feel ok).

I had my baby on Christmas Day via C-section - my incision area is a bit numb, and does feel weird when palpated - this week I have been feeling what I think is the muscles that were cut starting to heal - it is more of what I would describe as a sore muscle healing - more tightness & pulling than sharp pain - I don't think 'sharp' pain is ever a good thing with an incision & I would call your OB/GYN - as the other Mommy said, you may have a mild infection under the skin incision - don't forget, they cut through many different layers...not just the skin, so you could have an infection within the abdominal muscle, the uterus incision, or something else in the abdomen - I wouldn't wait and see though - a C-section is major abdominal surgery...Good luck & feel better : )

It may be an ingrown hair that is causing pain. Ask your doctor or midwife. I found that using an abdominal support belt helped me for the three months after my c-section.

Quoting Kim:
I had a c-section 3 weeks ago, and I am still feeling pain sometimes near my incision. Is anyone else in the same boat or know if this is normal? There is no redness, pussyness, or fever. Whenever I run my hand over the spot of the sharp pain, I feel a little bump/swelling.
i had the same problem! i had a mild infection there so my doc put me on antibiotics and it went away!! and its still going to be a little tender there, they just cut open your tummy muscle. also try a shallow bath with epson salts in it!!! works wonders!!
