Has anyone out there suffered an incisional hernia after their c-section? Apparently it doesn't happen too often but I can't be the only one. Just wanted to know what the recovery was like comparing it to the c-section recovery.

By the way I am very new to this group.

Hi im due to go into hospital next Tuesday for an open Incisional hernia repair following my third section 16 months ago. I knew there was something not right straight after my section but the Doctor just put it down to my uterus not shrinking. I eventually had a CT scan which shown i had a 6cm incisional hernia to the right of my navel. I have also had a previous op a good few years back so my stomach muscles arnt the best. They are going to cut through my old section scar to correct the hernia using mesh.
Not looking forward to it at and could be in hospital for 4-5 days. Did you get it sorted/ was it a hernia?.,

I am having a scan in 4 days to confirm whether i have a hernia. My c section was 2 yrs ago and its always bothered me but id say the last 4 months its been burning and stinging and there is a lump there. It hurts to get off the sofa and to stand and walk around. Is the only treatment surgery! Im petrified of hospitals.

I just found out the I have an incisional hernia, caused by my c-section of my daughter 9 months ago. Its been growing since, and I've been experiencing horrible cramping and havent been able to do normal everyday things.

In bed recovering from triple hernia op and abdominoplasty following my last 4th cs in Dec. Incisional hernia was large hence the tummy tuck, also had an umbilical one and an epigastric. Honestly, the most painufl thing ever experienced, this surgery.

I had my c-scection on Oct 2007. I noticed when I was trying to get out of the tub there was a bulge coming out from my umbilical area. My surgeon said that it can sometimes happen from a c-section. He said I was lucky because mine is so large. I did have an umbilical hernia after the birth of our 3rd child but it was only keyhole surgery with minimal pain. This time around I am suppose to say in the hospital just as long as I did with a c-section.

Hi there!

My right side. There was no reason for it but yes, it took some time for recovery! Not the six week plan!! :) When did you have your c-section? Are you in early recovery? My c-section was 3 yrs ago.
