Has anyone out there suffered an incisional hernia after their c-section? Apparently it doesn't happen too often but I can't be the only one. Just wanted to know what the recovery was like comparing it to the c-section recovery.

By the way I am very new to this group.

In bed recovering from triple hernia op and abdominoplasty following my last 4th cs in Dec. Incisional hernia was large hence the tummy tuck, also had an umbilical one and an epigastric. Honestly, the most painufl thing ever experienced, this surgery.

I had my c-scection on Oct 2007. I noticed when I was trying to get out of the tub there was a bulge coming out from my umbilical area. My surgeon said that it can sometimes happen from a c-section. He said I was lucky because mine is so large. I did have an umbilical hernia after the birth of our 3rd child but it was only keyhole surgery with minimal pain. This time around I am suppose to say in the hospital just as long as I did with a c-section.

Hi there!

My right side. There was no reason for it but yes, it took some time for recovery! Not the six week plan!! :) When did you have your c-section? Are you in early recovery? My c-section was 3 yrs ago.
