Its normal to have some pain, the incision itself will never have sensation. The tummy muscles hurt because they are WEAK! And because they were just cut through. Use your muscles as much as possible to gain back the muscle tone.
Jeans do suck! I miss wearing my cute jeans, they hurt my tummy.

i was told it takes one year for evey inch of your scar, to heal. my mom said after her hysterectomy 25 years ago, it's still numb. I've had 2 c-sections and a hysterectomy in less that 27 months. it still hurts when the kids dive bomb my belly. LOL so yep your normal

I had some pain for almost a year after my section. I even had a CT to rule out an incisional hernia, but all was well! Good luck to you! I would think that as long as your pain isn't severe and constant, it's probably normal... The numbness never went away in certain parts of my scar. The nerve endings are gone for good, I think!

if you think what your surgeon has had to do to you to get your baby out, cutting through muscle, nerve endings etc well you are never going to be the same as b4 anyway with like other operations really, i had my daughter 6 1/2yrs ago and i still double up with pain dont forget you might also suffer with scar tissue inside you i swear thats what my problem is but it has always been very tender there even now if you have any major problems please go to your doctor its always best to get it checked out you got to look after yourself now your a mummyxxx congrats on your baby xxxx best wishes xxx

Yeah I agree with most everyone else here. My son is 2 1/2 and I still have some trouble with my scar. It's just the odd pain now and then but still there. And I still have some itching that is annoying as crap!

MIne was sore for a very long time, but is normal now. My daughter is 3. Part of my stomach was numb for a while too, but that went away. Both probably lasted 2-3 years.

Yeah, I wear my maternity jeans still sometimes... and I don't have any yoga pants, but now I am thinking I should probably go and get some!

my daughter is six months old and I wear my maternity pants still so that the waistbands don't squeeze on my stomach at all. Yoga pants rule!

My son is 4 months old, and I still have quite a bit of pain in my incisional area. It is really hard for me to wear jeans, they squeeze on that area and it is really uncomfortable.

I get a few pains and my son's 2 and a half. I am told that it is because they cut through the nerve endings and they take a while to get back to normal, whcih is why you will feel some numbness too.
