Not happy with delivery day :(

:-) Thanks Kimrose and I know I can have a VBAC but I had a really horrible labor experience the first time (50+hrs) and I just really don't want to put myself through that again. I don't believe my body can deliver babies the way it's suppose to, I have a very narrow birth canal and my body likes to make big babies! :) lol

Hello. I'm NOT trying to throw a wrench in anything - and it sounds like you're fine w/where you are/comfortable w/having a c-section. I'm sure/hoping you know - but since I'm in your position - c-section w/my first, but not planning it w/this one - I had to throw it out there that having had one the first time absolutely does not automatically mean you need one this time. Just hoping you have the kind of doctor that was honest wtih you about your choices - not just their preferences. The 4 days is typical and I would ABSOLUTELY strongly say whatever you feel about the scheduling. Sorry - but it's YOUR BIRTH - the date/being in for the holiday will never matter as much to anyone else as it does you - it's totally your right to speak up about it!! Sorry for the rant - I just wish you the best birth and what would make you most happy! Good Luck!

I know that I'll be having the c-section that day because I had a c-section with my first baby. :) I'm getting really excited, and plan to ask if she will let me change it so I can be home for the holiday. Thanks ladies!!

I had a normal, healthy c-section and was in the hospital for 4 days. It wouldn't hurt to ask for maybe a couple days early, as long as everything is looking ok.

Can I ask a question though? Nov.22 is over 2 months away. How does she know that you will need a c-section or if you will be in labor that day? Seems odd to me :)

My doctor basically gave me the choice because I asked how long I should stay and they said 4 days is what they usually keep you for, but they said if I felt good enough I could leave after 3 days. I ended up staying 5 since my son was sick and needed to stay in the hospital for 5 days, so they were generous to let me stay the 5th night for free so I could breastfeed. I would talk to your doctor to see if there is some leniency or if you can change the delivery date.

yeah the average stay is 4 days i think, depending on your dr, your insurance and how your doing. but its usually around 4 days.
