I know the dr says to wait 6 weeks, but how soon after your c-section did you have sex? My husband is deployed and coming home for a few weeks after my csection for my twins and im wondering if we will be able to have sex while he is here

i wanted it SO BAD 3 days afterward! i begged and begged--my poor hubby managed to hold out until about a week later, he said he was afraid he would hurt my stitches and stuff, love his heart, but i was pitiful and pleaded--said "just put the head in and see how it feels" and all that jazz, lol....he finally caved, and surprisingly it didnt hurt at all. but we are boring missionary low n slow lovemaking kinda people....idk what it would have happened if we were wild animals, i probably would have busted my stitches. i guess just ease into and make sure its what YOU want. that you're not doing it just for your husband. i got lucky and had one of those husbands that was totally prepared and willing to wait until i was ready. thank god i was ready so quick so it didnt test his patience! i was just so glad to be able to climax again! that whole last couple of weeks i couldnt climax during penetration like before because my baby had dropped so low into my pelvic girdle he was in the way of my g-spot! also i should add i called my OB right away and had him put me on my birth control pills so that we wouldnt wind up pregnant again!

Doctors generally tell women to wait to be sure everything is okay. My husband and I waited 7 weeks, and a friend of mine waited 2 weeks; we were both fine. It was really painful for me the first few times, though, which is really common. I've read that the missionary position is the most painful, so try to avoid it. Spooning apparently works the best and did for me. However long you choose to wait, always check with your doctor first before you decide.

Its been three weeks since i had my first c-section and just had sex! im not in any pain but freaked out cuz I know I should of waited 6 weeks, but then I read all these post about woman even having sex earlier and they are ok! that makes me more at ease :) so I guess im not worried anymore! I just need to be careful and keep clean so I can decrease the chances of infection! as far as birth control, got on the shot thank god :)

Okay I am as dumb as a rock I had a c-section and they left the placenta in me so I hemorrhaged for 3 weeks before I even asked a friend if it was normal she told me to get to the doctor ASAP. They had to do another c-section but I went out running 2 days later I felt great, but my poor husband I followed what I read and made him wait another six weeks after the second c-section so he had to wait 9 weeks. Not that I wasn't horny as hell too but I would go run and I never let him get up with our daughter so I was always so tired my horniness just fell asleep with me. Just goes to show you age does not matter when your a first time mom you are still a beginner.

I was wondering this myself. I feel just fine and back to my normal self for the most part, but have been holding off because of the "6 week" rule,

It all depends on you and what you're comfortable with. I was never given any instruction as to when is safe by my doctor. That's why I have babies age 1 and 2 so close together. It was comfortable after my first but not second. Still very uncomfortable. It's totally up to you and what you're comfortable with.

I just had C-section #3, baby #4 only 13 days ago and I was scared as ever to have sex again so soon. However, we did it and it was great! Just choose a position that is most comfortable for u, and listen to ur body. Not just ur sexual body, lol.

hey after i had my c-section i waited 8 weeks until i had sex and even than it still hurt so i waited another month after that, my hubby was so good waiting how long he did, but he had to wait longer than that as we couldn't have sex when i was pregnant because every time we did it would hurt and i would bleed, so that maybe the reason why i had to wait so long after having my c-section!!

I waited the full 6 weeks, it was extremely painful. The pain lasted for 7 months, I was about to see a specialist and it suddenly stopped. I was told that the pain could be caused by hormones (I wont go into detail). I would say if it doesn't hurt or put too much pressure on your wound, go for it.

As long as you aren't hurting and you are careful.....I would say it depends on the person. I waited about 3 weeks. Congrats on the twins! I have twin boys that are 15 months old now and a 4 year old (all boys).

Wow.. we waited 10 weeks after the my second C-Section... My incision got infected after two weeks and it took me about 10 weeks to gain my full mobility again. I think (was two years ago) we waited about 6-8 weeks with my first child... same thing... it took me that long to regain mobility.

as long as the post delivery blood is all gone(not sure what it is called) it's like a heavy period. we started back up at 4 1/2 weeks. I felt fine. nothing was hurting. but i had been putting oil on my c-section to get it to stretch better (vitamin E)

As long as you are not in a position that is putting strain on your wound you can have sex any time. I had sex after 1 1/2 weeks. They say to wait 6 weeks because they say that with any surgery that requires an abdominal incision.

I had sex the day I went home..Basically, if your not bleeding you can do it. Just take it slow! Hell, if your husband doesn't mind the blood you could do it after your out of surgery! lol just kidding!

hi, well before baby even came my partner said we need to wait 12 weeks before we make love again. lol, which is funny because i new he could not wait so long for sex. so we waited about 3/4 weeks, i wanted it more then him, i had to convice him it was fine, as long as we didn't rush anything. so it's upto you, just take your time you will be fine.

Kudos to those of you who waited the whole 6 weeks! We had sex 2 days after my c-section while I was still in the hospital. I promised him we would for his birthday and of couse our son was born on his daddys birthday! I didn't have any extra problems(that I know of) and am healed today at 6 weeks. So I think you'll be fine. I found that I was a little dry since delivery so lube is recommended.

We did it the day i stopped bleeding (all of a week and a half, maybe two weeks) and it didnt cause any problems. I was tender but as long as you are careful you should be ok. the bigger problem is having the energy TO do it!! lol

I had sex about 3 weeks after my c-section but it felt uncomfortable so we waited another week and it was fine. It's all about how you feel. And yes, do use a condom if you don't want to get pregnant right away.

I would think it would be OKAY just be careful becase it is such a fresh wound.. I would most definatley use a condom since I am sure you don't wnat anymore babies for awhile hehe since we all know the pull out method doesn't work and that pre cum can also knock us up lol. Good luck :)

We waited the full six weeks...my poor husband! We probably could have sooner. I was just all hormonal and paranoid.

Hey, I had my twins in august via c-section and we waited about 3weeks. There was no pain in the actual wound area. just my belly was a little bit tender. I was terrified of it tearing, i asked my dr about it and he said that very rarely it can. But i think i was just terrifying myself lol.
