I had my C-section March of 2008 and I'm still super tender around that whole area and I'm totally numb.

I am still numb. but the doctor told me that it should only last about 5 months after having the baby. its only been 4 months for me, but its not getting any better. its okay though, at least it doesn't hurt when my little one kicks at me during play time!

I was numb with my first c-section for over a year and a half. The whole time I was pregnant with my second child, I was numb. But when my second was born via c-section, the numbness went away and I have never had it since.

I had a c-section in 2000 and in 2004 still have numbness.I think it will be here forever. The doctor said it will go away.Small price to pay for what you get in return.

I had my c-section on 11.22.08 and I still have a few numb areas. My OBGYN told me that whatever feeling I hadn't gotten back after the first six months post c-section, I most likely wouldn't ever get back.

Oh good. Cause it's SO annoying! It's almost to the point where it's going to drive me crazy!

No the numbness will never go away completely, well, ok, maybe in 20-30 yrs, I dont know, but my c-sections were 2003 & 2004 and I'm still numb. From what I've looked up, you will always be a little numb, some nerves just never re-generate... but the itching will stop, that is your muscles repairing themselves, any surgery will do that to you...

The itching is completely normal, and you'll never be able to make it stop, lol. It's your rmuscles and nerves repairing themselves... it can drive you nuts... I've had 2 c-sections and a laparoscopy now, so I've gotten used to it, but it usually disappears within the first year...

I still have numbness!! I also have itching around the general area of the incision and for some reason I can't scratch it, but I can feel it. Is THAT normal?!

Had two c-sections, 2003-2004, and I still have numb areas, mostly above.... Some nerves can re-generated themsleves, and you'll reagin some sensation, but mostly likely if you are numb, you will always be to some extent...I have noticed that some little areas here and there have incredible sensation, it's like the nerves are super-sensitive now.....

I had my c- section June 2003 so its been exactly 6 years today and I almost have all the feeling back. It took a long time and up until last year I had the very strong nerve pains around the scar.

i had my daughter in 2001 and my son in 2005. i was starting to get some feeling back before i had him then it happened again and i am still numb, i dont even notice it. my man was playfully piching that area and he was shocked when i didnt even make a sound of it hurting. so in some ways it is good.

First was in 2002, second in 2006. Numbness after the first and it never stopped. Same amount after the second. Not expecting it to change, that's for sure! :(

I have had two c-sections. My last one I think I still felt that way for at least 4 or 5 years. She is 8 now. Its been a while.

Yes. I had no numbness after my first two, but my last one on December 8th of 2007 left the area above my scare numb. It doesn't really bother me. I don't even notice it for the most part. I don't use those nerves anyway. It hasn't effected my ability to work out or anything, so I don't worry about it.

LOL to flappy. I had my C-Section in Feb and was so scared of the entire area that I didn't even notice that it was numb above the scar until my OBGYN pointed out to me that it felt numb and that the feeling may never completely come back. True to his word it was numb and is still numb at 11 weeks. I'm not too bothered by it really, It's not a limb that I use to do anything with :)
And to deal with the flap, you need a lovely husband like mine (note sarcasm) that has let me know that after I'm done having our three kids he'll get me a boob job and a tummy tuck... :P

I had my baby in January of this year and the doctor keeps saying the numbness will go away but it hasn't. As I can c by the other responses it might not even go away... that kinda suks :\

I had one in 04 and 05 and the numbness has just about come back although there is still a little area left, it never comes back completely cause certain nerves are severed.

I still have numbness after having a c-section and i had one in July of 05....Not sure why it's like that

Yep. I had mine in Nov of 07 and I do still have some numb areas. I think it's probably because some nerves were severed and just never healed.
