My little boy is 2 in April and is a big boy for his age, I really struggle lifting him into the child seat that we have a the moment (a large bulky item, like a bucket seat with a huge plastic base and 3 point harness) we have been to Halfords today and purchased a booster seat (suitable for 15KG+), my son is just over this 15GK weight restriction and so we were told there was no problem with fitting and using this type of seat. The thing that concerns me is that the guide lines suggest this seat is from approx 4yrs+. Can you advise as to even though he is in the right weight bracket is he still too young to go into this kind of seat? Many Thanks Sara. x

I would suggest looking into a Britax seat. If you go here:
http://www.britax-roemer.com/car-seats

They will give you an option to "Fit your child" I have given you the link to find the seats available in Great Britain.

Your little boy is much too young to be in a booster seat. my 4 year old isn't even in one yet, and she weighs similar to your son.

Britax, as well as many other great companies out there have fantastic seats that will suit your needs. I am just not sure about a lot of the manufacturers available in England. I do know a little about Britax, and I trust one with my 18 month old, and 4 year old.

Good luck! :)

If I remember correctly from another car seat board I visit(www.car-seat.org), the Graco Nautilus has recently come to England.

Looking at my American instruction manual it goes up to 29.5 K in the harness. Once the harness is outgrown, you can use it as a booster.

Honestly---I don't know much about your choices across the pond. Also, at only 2, he'd be much safer in a Rear Facing seat. Seats from Sweden would allow him to RF for quite a while longer---not sure of the weight in kilos though.

Yes he is too young to be in that type of seat. He does not have the maturity to sit still in the correct position for the duration of the ride. As you know--toddlers are VERY busy little people.

What country are you in?
