After 13, children can no longer go to daycare and the costs associated with a personal sitter are taxing...any suggestions for a single mother with a special needs child?

I don't know what state you are or what your special needs are...check with your states Dept of Mental Health or Dept Developmental Disabilities. They will usually help provide some respit type services to help if the disability falls under the purvue of either diagnostic criteria.
