I am a Byzantine Catholic (or an Eastern Catholic, not Roman Catholic, but in union with Rome) with two beautiful adopted children. Our children are black and we are white. We are hoping to adopt many more.

Presently we belong to a couple different transracial adoptive family groups, both associated with Protestant churches. Although we are very thankful for these groups and the families in them, I am eager to locate other adoptive moms who share our worldview as Catholics.

If you are a practicing, orthodox, Roman or Eastern Catholic who has adopted children, please join this group!

Hilary,

I am glad you found this group. We currently have a great support group locally, but we are moving in September, and I am not sure we will have one at all. I hope this online group will help...

I lived in Russia for a couple years. I would love to adopt from Russia as well...we'll see what happens...

I just found this group and am excited to have like-minded moms to share with. I am Roman Catholic and I have two daughters adopted from Russia (ages 6 and 4 when we adopted them) and a birth son (born three weeks after my girls came home). Our girls attend Catholic school but I find that some of their special needs can't be met in a private setting. I also struggle with finding adoption resources in our community. I have to travel at least an hour or more for support groups, etc. So, I am hoping that Circle of Moms can help with that. I'm glad to be a part of this group.
