I dont know what to do. I am so depressed. I love my life being a mom to my girls and a wife to my husband but I am so utterly depressed. I am trying to go to school but I have no drive and I am having panic attacks when i have to deal with people i dont know. I want to finish school but dont know if i can emotionally handle it. Am i the only one that feels this way? what do i do to stop feeling so lost? sorry for the depressing post i just need some help.
Thanks and God Bless

Have you tried changing your diet? Eating fruits, veggies, and lean protein, and drinking plenty of water helps your body and mind function better. Also, cutting out processed and refined foods will keep your blood sugar levels more consistent and may help with your anxiety.
Are you exercising? Physical activity improves your mood. Just going for a brisk walk can clear your head and make you feel better.

Hi Alison. You are most definitely not alone. I myself have ADD and an anxiety disorder, but in the end I have come out with my Bachelor of Arts degree. I would strongly suggest, as the others have, seeking outside help. The first step I took while I was going to community college was to talk to the school psychologist. It was free for college students. If you have the resources you could also seek the help of a psychiatrist, which is something I continue doing to this day every so often, they are able to prescribe any medication, should it be needed. Getting my foot through that door was the hardest thing, but I finally had to admit to myself that there was more going on than just stress.

When I was going to school I had a period of time, a definite slump, that I had to work through. I had to rethink what I wanted to do with my life and what direction I wanted my studies to take me and my family. My husband was my rock during this time, he along with prayer and my mom really helped me get through it. Trying to get through school with a family is difficult enough without throwing in depression and/or anxiety, but there is always hope and you should never let that go.

God give you strength & bless you and your family.

Alison,

I'm not a professional, but it sounds like you may need some outside help. I would suggest finding a good counselor or psychologist. Sometimes what's going on inside is more than we can handle by ourselves. You are certainly not alone. I think many women feel this way, but sometimes we have a tendency to ignore our own needs to take care of the needs of others.
