Hello all. My name is Keli. My fiance is Catholic, and I am contemplating converting. We are also expecting our first. I know the old saying, not supposed to sleep together until after marriage. I am just looking for advice and help in learning more about being a Catholic, and raising a baby in the Catholic Religion. Thank you.

As Nicole mentioned above, there are alot of excellent resources out there. Find a book or handout called "What Catholics believe" there are may out there. Pray about it, read on in and let the Holy Spirit guide you.

Hi Nicole!
All of the resources mentioned above are good. You might want to look at the Catholics Come Home website, which is a fantastic resource: http://www.catholicscomehome.org/

In my opinion though, the best thing you can do right now is commit to going to mass with your kids, praying with your kids, and learning right alongside them. :-)

I'm new too. I was baptised a RC, and went to Sunday school, but then went to (gasp) public school and things petered out from there. My children attend catholic schools and I want to renew my faith.

Hi Keli,

As an online resource I often find Caltholic Answers Forum helpful. For your own library I would say that it's really a good idea to invest in a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church - it contains the church's teaching on most questions you can think to ask and it will give you the straight answers without worrying if you're just getting one person's opinion of what the church teaches. Even priests have been known to lead people astray (unintentionally I'm sure). Most of all pray for God's grace to guide you in the right direction home to Him.

Peace, and prayers, Liz

Hi Keli! Feel free to post any questions you have here...I would suggest that you call a local parish and ask about attending the 'Inquiry' sessions (part of the classes people take to convert)...you can attend these classes without converting, and you will learn a lot about what Catholics believe. Also, the book "Catholicism for Dummies" is actually really good!!

Hi Keli,

I would visit www.ewtn.com & you can find virtually any question answered there. They have a whole library. They also have a questions & answers forum for every subject & they have a spot where you can search previously asked questions & frequently asked questions. It will help you a great deal. They are experts there. Something I cannot say for myself. :) Happy Reading!! Cissy
