I'm kind of partial to the books myself. At least I was until I read the latest release that just came out yesterday. I was really disappointed in it.

It depends on what type of books you like as well. There is a series called The Endurers by Rose Wynters that I'm hooked on. I'd love to see it made into a movie. It's an extremely erotic paranormal series that Alan Ball (True Blood) would have a blast with.

Im also addicted to True Blood, the books are awesome, and of course more in detail. which the series lack on certain things. .. If you like the series, you would enjoy the books, the series is more based on the books, not like Twilight. i recommend you read them.

I LOOVE TRUE BLOOD, its my favorite show! i started to read the books but then stoped because i didnt wont to get a head of my self. lol i absolutly love the show i havnt missed any of them. Twilight on the other hand.. umm i havent seen or red any of the books or movie.

ive read the first 9 books of trueblood and the show is different in some ways but i think they have to switch it up..but both the show and the books are great i love it!! cant wait to read the rest of the books..and im a big fan of the twilight books!

The books are a million times better than the show! I have read all ten books and waiting for the next. lol The series is good too. There are a few things that they changed from the book , but it is still a great show!

The true blood sookie stackhouse books are amazing! my husband bought me the boxset for christmas last year and i really enjoyed them, the tv series has changed things that are not in the book but even so i think the tv series is good- even more so with the guy who plays eric!! lol
i didnt like twilight the movie so much but started reading the books and now have read all of them too and really enjoyed breaking dawn.
its worthwhile reading the trueblood books, i have the next one on order which is due out in july

Love the show, love the books, LOVE THE WHOLE THING. The books are completely different to the show ( it keeps up fans of both from having it spoiled and except for the main characters you wouldn't even know it was the same subject) I find myself watching other shows and wishing it was trueblood the WHOLE time. I can't STAND kristen stewart and it bums me out because reading the twilight books was a special thing I shared with my 15 year old sister and I cant make it through an hour of that horrible girl's expressions.

Yes! the books are so so good! (im on book #7 and only just got them for Xmas) how ever different they are, the show is very good too. i wish in season 2 there wouldn't have been so much maryanne in the show as she wasn't in the book much and i got tired of that storyline. im so excited for season 3 and to see how they do club dead and everything. i hope they follow the book more this season.

You should try the Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. When I first started reading it I was iffy but got hooked very quickly. Also the Immortals series by Alson Noel is okay. Its kind of fluffy and may seem dissappointing in the first few chapters but they are good. Not nearly as good as Mortal Instruments saga or Twilight Saga though.

Ok...the books ROCK, but are totally different then the show. I love, love, love the show. It's the same characters but pretty different story lines. I truly appreciate both. Eric is awesome in the books and is my favorite character....people who haven't read the books tend to not appreciate him on True Blood as much. I had a friend who only watched the show and she didn't really like him....I gave her all my books and she was like OMG I totally love him.

I love the True Blood series! I only wish I had HBO so that I could have watched regularly. I love the Sookie Stackhouse books even more! They are fun and super easy to read.

I have read the Blake series. Lots of sex in those lol but yes they are very good books. I hadn't heard there was to be a tv series about the Anita Blake books as well. That sounds really good must be either showtime or HBO cause the sex senes wont make it on regular tv lol.

Charlaine Harris who wrote the "Sookie Stackhouse" series that became "True Blood" is not entirely like her books. The books are soooo much better. But I also love True Blood. If you like True Blood then you would probably like a series of books by Laurell K. Hamilton, the Anita Blake Series. These books are soooo good. I would read these before I read the Sookie series. Both are addicting. I have heard there is going to be a movie on the Anita series. If so and the characters are not perfect, than then same will happen like Twilight. You either have to read the books or just watch the movie to think the movie is good.

So the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris ROCK!!! and that's what True Blood is based off of. I think they are both great in their own right. I love how they (True Blood ) are keeping true to the world CH created in the Sookie Stackhouse novels, but w/ more depth, exploration, and a change in which character gets to experience a part of that world. I read the books first all 8 at the time before I watched TB and loved watching the characters manifest into life. I can't wait to see season 3 oh wait I'll have too. haha Twilight was good and so was the movie. Can't stand Kristen Stewart in anything she does, but that's alright Robert Pattinson does Edward justice.

You are right about Twilight. The book was way better. I saw the movie first then read the books. Not that I didn't love the movie too. Can't wait for New Moon to come out.The trailer looks kind of great. Also love True Blood. So glad the second season has started. It is still interesting to me...

I have read the first 2 True Blood books and I'm done...although the books are good, they are so far off base from what the show is about...True Blood series "great" books stink...Twilight books amazing. Twilight movie...I can't stand Kristin Stewart !!!!
