New season Tuesday February 16th 10/9c Love the show! The show does a good job of representing how hard it makes life/relationships having a child when you are so young. Its definately a learning opportunity for teenagers that may have no experience in their own lives of what being a teen parent really is.

I completely disagree with Janessa.

I was 17 when I became pregnant with my son, and now 18. It wasn't planned at all and I was not being irresponsible- I was on the pill. For a little while my partner and I did live with his parents while I was pregnant. However, as soon as we were financially able, we moved into our own place and supported ourselves. Also, while I stay at home with my son, I am also studying so that I can provide an life for my son where he does not want for anything. lol not that he does now.

My parents do not 'fork the bill' as you so kindly put it. They have looked after him for a couple of hours, every so often but I am the one who takes care of him, and my partner and I are the ones who pay for everything.

I really like that show. I kind of think some of the stuff is fake, but I also think that it shows teenage girls how hard it is to raise a child on your own or even with the child's father.

I watch 16 and pregnant sometime. The first season seemed to glorify motherhood. This season seems to be a little bit better about showing more hardships. I would like to think that one of the points of the show is to scare teenagers so that they don't want to get pregnant. I think, unfortunately, it is making it a trend.

I watch it!!! I love it! I became pregnant at 19...on purpose...I had been married for a year and thought I was all grown up and ready to have babies! Infact I was dying to have a baby, I was wrong, I wasn't ready! I honestly don't think anyone is ever truly ready. Although I loved being a mom, it was the most awesome experience ever...I wasn't ready for the rest of my life to come to a halt at 19. I hope that teen girls watch this show and actually learn and retain from this show....although....did u really listen to anyone when you were a teen? Prob not, we were invincible...right? lol

yes,i think that it is about time they actaually let teens see the consequences of ahving kids too young,i was a teen mom and i believe i woul've made better choices if something like this was out during my time, children need something other than sex ed in the school to show them and help them make better decisions

Can someone gave me an answer. I was wondering was it is the teens who get to decided if their want to keep the baby? Why don't their parents make them put the baby up for adoption or abortion. In the end the parents always have to fork the bill and majority of the time the parents are already struggling it pisses me off and there go on welfare i work hard for my money and i have to gave my tax dollars to irresponsible people.

I was eighteen and had my first child. I was already living on my own and had been with my then boyfriend now husband for four years. It was hard then. I have seen the show and love it personally but I am worried about the shows message. My brother is seventeen and is in his first serious relationship. I am worried that it kinda puts the thought in yourng ladies mind. My neice watched the show with me she is thirteen. She said the show scared her personally. I am a fan of the show for entertainment purposes it awesome. But it is not a show that i would want my daughter to watch. Its kinda of hypocritical but its the way i feel.

I watch that show alot. I hope the teenage girls who watch the show realize that being a teen mom is no fun. I'm not a teen mom, but it was still hard for me because I'm a single mom just like the girls. I would like to know where's a baby music class is here in houston.

I watch this show every Tuesday at 10pmPST on MTv. I think some of the girls are whiny brats who need to realize that they cant just "go back" and be a "regular" teen anymore. My favorite one was and will always be "Ebony".

I love it, I just think it's really interesting to see each girls stories. On the other hand even though i watch every episode i think it's really sad that theres a second season about 16 year old girls having babys. Its crazy that theres that many teen pregnancys that they can make a show of it. I feel really bad for some of these girls, ive seen maybe 2 guys on there that arn't complete immature selfish little boys. If they think there old eneough to have sex than they should be old eneough to take responsibility.

i'll occasionally watch it with my 16 year old daughter. it has absolutely made her stop and take heed of the struggles teen moms face. i was a teen mom myself. my daughters have always known how hard it was for me............and how hard things still are. i was not able to go on to college, so i had to take menial jobs, many of them that were physically taxing. now, at the age of 38, i am on disability due to deginerative disc disease. so, yes, my girls have lived a life of seeing their mom struggle just to pay the monthly bills, much less buy the extras. but watching this show, i think, brings it home more for my daughter. she's actually witnessing girls her age living the life.........she's made several comments about the show and it's opened the door for more involved conversations about teen moms.

yes i do and i think it in no way shows how teens really struggle to be a parent at that age i was a teen mum and struggled like mad and didnt have much support from anyone i think it actually glorifies having babies at such a young age

[deleted account]

It's definetly not easy, Shari. I'm 9 months pregnant with baby number 2 and my son is 18 months old. I've never been so exhausted in my life! I couldn't imagine finding out that I'm pregnant again when my son was 5 months old. He still wasn't sleeping through the night and didn't start doing that until he was about 9 or 10 months old but even then he was getting up at 6am. You're a strong woman to be able to take care of a 5 month old all the while being pregnant!

Andi I too was ignorant on having a baby LOL! I was 26 when my son was born and I had no idea how hard it would be. Never mind hearing when he's 5 mnths old that Congrats your pregnant with your second LOL

[deleted account]

I agree with Shari, those shows are great for girls to watch. It shows just how hard it is although I have to admit that I was a little ignorant thinking having a baby won't be hard for me...and I was 20 and married!

I watched the first season of 16 & pregnant and then watched Teen Mom and I loved how they showed the girls that after the babies are born there is a lot of work to do to be a Mommy! I'm enjoying the second season of 16 & pregnant! I also watch The Secret Life Of An American Teenager and think that's a great show to for girls to watch.

I agree that its good for teenagers to watch it, whether or not it actually has an influence on their actions, who knows? but still, it shows that having a baby is more than playing dress up, its hard work and puts strains on relationships. I just started watching this show and found it very interesting, I'm excited to see what happens next

I think it is a great show for young women that age to watch if for nothing else to reinforce that it does happen and these are the consequences. I think so many young women just don't think it will happen to them, but it shows real women who it has happened to and weren't ready and shows how little the fathers of the children normally end up doing. I wish it was mandatory as Health class curriculum, homework maybe? My ex-husbands 16 year old cousin is 16 and pregnant, just found out and I just wish that she had given it a bit more fore-thought I know it will be what makes her who she is in life from this moment forward but so would have been not having a baby and having a bit of an easier time with the rest of her young adulthood... I think they are very brave, and I still feel for them because I am 33 and having my first and scared to death, really 16? I just cant even imagine how different my life would have been, I am glad I had my youth.

i think its a very good show. i'm glad it shows real life experiences. i just wanted to yell at maci and farrah that those guys arent worth it. leave them behind and i'm glad they did. it shows what women have to go thru for the ones they love. (but what happened to sophias daddy?) and catellyn and tyler are such a cute couple. as for the new season. i cant believe that poor girl puts up with her babies daddy. hes an abuser to her and i hope she realizes that and drops him fast.

great show. i hope that moms of any age will use this show to examin there own selfishness. even if ur 30 and all u care about is putting ur baby in daycare 60hrs a week, or if ur 16 and leaving it with ur mom either way plenty of moms can be selfish and the children suffer! spend time with ur kids no excuses!!!

I love the show. Just watched the new season last night. I'm not sure how I like this new girl. I was sixteen when I got pregnant with my son Kyle, seventeen when I had him. He was born Sept. 2, just in time to start my senior year of school. Everyone has a story to share when it comes down to it, and its not peaches and cream all the time. But when it comes down to it we do what we have to do. For myself I choose to get my life back on track when Kyle was born. I got my act together and went to school, graduated with a 4.0 and was able to finish early. I could go on and on, but the truth is that when it boils down to it, having Kyle just made me have to work a little harder to get where I needed to be and in the end it was so worth it:)

i never saw it but i was a teen mum just turned 16 when i fell pregnant and had her when i was still 16 had no problems with the birth or anything but if i hadent had the support of my partner and family i dont know how i would have coped.she is 11 now and will be 12 in a few month she is the same size as me and i feel like we get a funny looks when i hold her hand to cross the road and things like that!!! like the other girl said i wouldent encourage teen pregnancys but if it happens you need to take responsability i hate to see girls just give up to quick or think that lads and their friends come first and then the grandparents have to look after the kids and thats not rite it gives teen mums a bad name!!

i love this show! it really portrays the hardships that teens would have to face if they became prego. i also like how they dont show any good outcomes, because that would just support teen parenthood. its just really interesting to see others dealing with what i'm dealing with. tho i'm 19 and i have amazing family and friends and my bf and i are still in a really healthy relationship.

[deleted account]

I watch the show and find it pretty interesting. I like how they show how hard it can be to be young and have a baby to take care of. You have so many girls these days getting pregnant and even tricking the guys into getting them pregnant all because they think babies are cute and use them as accesories. Not all teens are like that though.

Farrah (Sophia's mom), she lives near where I live and I heard about her boyfriends accident on our local news. I can't imagine how hard that was for her, especially now since Sophia is growing up without her dad.

I really wish that they would show a 21 year old in college, with a "typical college life" and a 21 year old with a preschooler. It seems to me that a lot of young women only think about having " babies" and not about having 4 year olds, or 8 year olds when their friends are still young and having fun. I'm glad that the show portrays 4 very different girls from diverse backgrounds and the struggles that each are having.

I also watched the show and no it's not easy, but I thought the show was really fake! But it does show you how things can be, but they all don't turn out like the show did. I was also a youg teen mom I got pregnant at 17 and had my first daughter at 17. My boyfriend at the time and I had planned to get pregnant. Who I married shortly after, but not because I was pregnant but because we really loved each other. We have now been married 25 1/2 years and 3 children later. And still in just as much love as we were back then. BUT no it was not always peaches and cream, BUT WE DID IT, So things can work out!!

Ive watched a show like that but in Britain its called 'Underage and Pregnant' It is an eye opener but I would like too say not all young mums are useless. I was 16 and pregnant and had my llittle star 5 days before I was 17. However I have my own place, both me and my partner we're happy and it's what we wanted we had been together for 3 years before I got pregnant. So it isnt always the same senario (if Ive spelt that right :)) x

Im not a teen mom but I did like to watch this show. I was really impressed with some of the girls like Maci and Catelynn. They seem like the two mature ones. Cant say that I liked Ryan (Bentleys Dad). He seemed like a heartless jerk. But you cant see what goes on behind closed doors either. Catelynn and Tyler seem like they are the most grown up. It takes a lot for someone to have the courage to give up their child. They knew it was for the best and I really admire them for that. What ever happened to the other girl they had on the first season though?
