My 7 yr old Noah, I swear, has more drama than a middle school girl sometimes. The tears over friends, the disappointments seem crushing. I never experienced this with my oldest. He's a well behaved kid, though certainly not perfect, but I am trying to find ways to teach him to cope with this. Part of it I know is that we moved from his friends - just across town, but he has his best friends across the street and its lonelier here. Ive been doing lots of playdates lately, hoping to give him more time to interact and have fun...

i would interest for playmates, i have a 10 years old 5th grader son. they have age differences but maybe they could get along. which part of lexington are you living? i am in downtown..

Maybe invite his old freinds over so that he can see that he will still be able to spend time with them? Daniel will be 4 next month. We moved here a year ago and just finished moving to a new place a couple of weeks ago. Daniel had been visiting my parents in AL and when I told him we were moving he said he did NOT want to move again. Once we showed him we were only moving a block and that he would have a yard, and even let him help us carry stuff, he was sooooo excited about moving.
