Hello, I am a new cheer mom! I just started my 3 1/2 year old in non competitive cheer. Shes only been to one class and im already scared that shes too young. Her team is 3-6 and she is the youngest on the team. Of course the majority of them are returning girls, so they pretty much know what they are doing. Im afraid shes not gonna be able to keep up with them...any advice for the new cheer mom ladies???

Put her in tumbling, stunting, and dance classes and she will be amazing

Be Patient :) Take her to Football games when she is not Cheerleading & let her watch the Older Cheerleaders Maybe ask one of them to spend a lil time talking to her about it.(or a friend or relatives Child who cheers, or rent cheerleading movies :)
I just became a Coach to My girls who are 6 & 61/2 They are the youngest on my squad the rest of them are 9-11 & have Cheered before so my 2 are definatley the youngest but, they watched the other girls Cheer for the last 2 years (b/c my son played football) So they were so Excited to Cheer this year (in our County they have to be 6 to Cheer) but.... I wanted to Coach so I was Blessed & was able to Cheer with my Girls on my sons team. The only catch was, they had to Skip Pee~Wee & go straight to Middle~Division* They also Recruited My Husband to Coach My son's Football team (Assistant Coach/Offensive line Coach) So now we are all A Member of the Cardinals :) YAY!! But, we have only had 2 Cheer Practices so far & the Very first Practice the youngest was acting SOOO Shy & was about ot Cry but, by the next practice she opened up a little bit & even Called out a Cheer* It's definately Challenging but in the end it's a great way to spend time with my family :) I even Practice w/them One~on~One @ home :) Good Luck & God Bless♥ ~Laura
