i have been given a forward facing carseat from a friend who didnt use it , i want to make sure it is fitted correctly, i have been on the halfords website does anyone know if they would fit a seat not bought from them?

go to www.seatcheck.org and find a local tech to help you. A good tech should never "fit it for you" they should show you how to do it then let you do it yourself so that you know how to do it should you need to take it out for any reason like to clean under it.
But in general when installed correctly it should not move more then an inch at the point where the belt goes through it from side to side.If you need anymore help send me a message.
