Hi Everyone

This is my first look at this board. I spend some time on the Apraxia Kids discussion board on Face Book.

My son is 29 months old and has been in speech therapy and occupational therapy since he was 17 months old. He recently received a multi-disciplinary team assessment, evaluation and treatment at Dr. Lucy Jane Miller's STAR Center in CO. The team consisted of a developmental pediatrician, neuro psychologist, occupational therapist and speech therapist along with Dr. Miller. The team confirmed both diagnosis and ruled out Autism, ASD and PDD.

We are very fortunate to live in an area rich with trained professionals and our son is now receiving Apraxia specific speech therapy in our home 4 times per week, occupational therapy at a sensory center three times per week and has a home 1:1 teacher for 1.5 hours each week. He is making steady (and slow) progress. I have come to the realization that dealing with Apraxia is going to be a marathon, not a sprint.

I am always looking to connect with like minded mom's for support and to share ideas. We have a fantastic home program and use a combination of the Kaufman and Prompt methods in ST.

Looking forward to chatting!

Kim
